yappiez, you might want to check with the diversion riders, they can use eagle screens as well. U mean the french TDM euro fairing ah? Seems like its a concept thingy..not on production model.

 

boon16, no need to draw lah. Just tell them how tall you want (eg. + 200mm or +300mm etc) and the colour (clear, light tint, dark tint, etc). You might want to indicate if you want the flip (on yappiez's TDM) or the straight (on mine)

Hi all TDMers,

 

I am not new to this tread, been following the updates and review abt this bike for quite awhile. Guess i was convinced in a way to own one myself. I have grown to loved this bike just that i didnt have the budget to buy one. Finally, had decided to give it a go when the offer came. I am acty the new buyer for terror1 bike. Therefore, i need alot of advise and help from fellow riders here regarding this unique bike.

 

I will be collecting the bike next tues. Seen the bike tdy and in present condition, the bike needs afew do up. Like new tyres, chain & sproket, brake disc pad, a thorough wash and polish.

 

Need a fellow third party TDMers to provide a more accurate assesment of the bike. When are you guys meeting up again? Hope you guys can give me opinions and suggestion as to what else to repair or change.

Hi there and welcome. I probably have lost track who you are if you have viewed my bike b4.

 

Anyway, from the way you describe terror's TDM, its due for quite a couple of periodic maintenance stuff. The basic rule is: If it ain't broke, dun fix it.

 

Here's what I would do if I were you: (Assuming nothing was changed since the 1st owner)

1) Engine oil & oil filter change

2) New Airfilter & sparkplugs

3) New brake pads

4) Bleed the brake fluid and add fresh ones

5) New tyres

6) New chain & sprockets (use original sprockets)

7) Check brake discs for warping etc

8) Flush radiator coolant

9) Check wheel bearings

10) Check steering cone

 

These are basically wear & tear stuff that applies to all motorbikes running on chain & radiator. Nothing out of the ordinary. This should give you a peace of mind for the rest of the year assuming the engine internals are ok.

 

Here are some potential issues that you might encounter:

1) Noisy chain tensioner (It happens on some TDMs apparently) - Replace with updated tensioner (new part no.)

2) Expecting more??? Nah..Thats about it. The TDM is really a problem free bike out of production.

 

The rest are actually mods and good to haves:

1) Scott oiler or some other chain oilers

2) Luggage system (I'm selling my H&B junior side pannier set with rack if you are keen)

3) Touring screen

4) Mainstand

5) Handguards & risers

6) Engine guards/sliders

7) Exhaust

 

All depends on how deep is your pocket

Thks Barracuda, where else beside HL would you be able to suggest a reputable workshop and mechanic to service the TDM? Possible to state the cost of each of the maintenance job, so that i have a rough idea of how much to pay for them.

 

The engine sounds abit rough. Was thinking of doing value clearance. Would you recommend it?

 

I was thinking of a H&B top box instead. What abt getting a tank bra?

I think I have the highest mileage 900 in Singapore or at least among those in this forum (about 65k now. same age as Foodie's bike). Might be a good idea to do one as well......

 

I believe Barra meant, out FROM production.

Then I will be able to meet up and discuss about the eagle screens.

MZ6 definitely more sticky. I always get loud screeching in MSCPs. Also wear out faster.

 

Would have gotten MZ6 if not for the high prices due to euros....

foodle>> The TDM manual states valve adjustment and checks at every 40000km intervals. HL does it for sure. Loois is another well known place.

 

AJ>> I'll go for Metzeler Z6 personally. Shd be ard 400+ a pair. Most bikeshops would have them. Not a rare tyre. Tuning..not sure. HL or Loois I guess. Tell us more abt ur mod leh. I'm getting GPR exhaust next.

well...the other day got tis chap selling Ducati999 yoshimura carbon fibre titanium exhaust...so i really can't wait to get my hands on it..wen i got hold of it...i was like...ohh my goshh...sweeeeeeeet...

den...oh no...the mods...well..i m sick of getting my leg burned by the oem exhaust...so i did a cheap mod across the causeway..its a cut and join thgy..maybe only sengkwang can do a well done job..but i dun wanna waste my money at his shop...

 

so,i jus did my exhaust today...shiok...but need to buy pipe wrap so tat no air leaks...smehw the sound is as if i m riding a sportster...

i need to change K&N filter then need to find sme place to do the tuning...
