Sadly , I don't have a pic of how I mount e base plate to the tail rails . I just helped my Fren to mount his last week . Currently , I'm using Hepco racks n top box .

Last time , I had a back pack consisting of my clothes n toileteries inside my 42L givi top box n some spare parts when I went touring up nth n Thailand . Sometimes I went beyond 200 kmh at short burst .



i see. okay i shall check out with Thomas first, and see if he is letting go his fabricate base plate by Ah An. Thanks! Sounds like its a reasonable load and reasonable speed, any signs on hairline cracking for the cowling at the mounting point?

Regards,

kifakw

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car

and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall,

torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Welcome to the club, TDMer !

Welcome mate !!! That's one of the lowest mileage bike around, superb low mileage...

Look for thomas... He got a spare one, made by Ah An... sweet and slick... Most important, cheap, cheap... Give him a tinkle, before he throw it away...

Yes, it is only 53,000 KM when i took over it yesterday! For an 8 years old bike that's very very little.

So far everything's been great and feels good.

I almost wheelie yesterday at 2nd gear when i tried to accelerate away hahaha.

On a sidenote, does anyone has this issue.

When my handlebar is turned 3/4 or fully to the right, the clutch biting point is much much further away as compared to when my handlebar is straight or turned to the left?

If I do a hard braking using the front brakes, it seems like there some sort of plastics sound coming from the front head fairing?

kifakw

Replying to your Q2...

Mine, got a few occasions, dies off at speed ard 80~100kmh...

To counter the balls-shrinking feel, I came out with an SOP...

Step 1: Clutch-in, turn-off and on the ignition key.

Step 2: Start the engine...

Step 3: Good to go again... Vroom....

Remember all these action being done when you're still on the moves ! Sometimes when lane-splitting, yea...

The cause for this is Error Code no. 19...

Some said, side stand sensor, some said ignition switch (same as paikia problem) and many others...

After I spray lots of WD40 and contact lotion, and clean the side stand sensor, till now the issue has now reoccurs again...

But when it happens, apply the SOP...

It could be due to TPS sensor...

Finally there's are signs of life in this almost obsolete thread . . . hahaha !!!

Wheelie on Tdm is very easy but after a few wks ur throttle control will be alot better !

But guess this does not apply to Mr Angelo cos popping n wheeling the Tdm is his favorite past time . . .  

Bro are you refering to the head cowling? if you are using tall windscreen and often go high speed, yes cracks will appear at the sides in time to come. u can actually strenghen them by gluing metal gauze (those used for bbq) on the inside. dats wat most of us did. but if u use normal or stock windscreen, the chances of the cracks appearing are lower and almost zero.

If u are refering to the tail rail, i doubt there will be cracks if the mounting is tight and secured. cracks usually appear if the mounting is loose and there is alot of micro movements of the base plate and box due to its weight.

I see. I still haven't decide on what kind on rack to go for just yet. So many kind of racks, spoilt for choices.

Urm, under hard braking using the front brakes, i can hear some plastics sound coming from the front head cowling. Is that normal? I shall try that later to confirm my findings.

What kind of windscreen would you guys recommend that would deflect the wind resistance for a 2-UP (rider & pillion) journey, with no risk of cracking the head cowling at high speed?

kifakw

So far i have no problem with the throttle control.

It's the gearing ratio, half clutching and lane spitting that i am having a problem with ATM.

Hey guys,

I’m a New TDM 900 owner here. Bought it from the “Legendry bro Paikia”. Thanks to him for introduce me to this beast but seem like a Chihuahua if park side by side to his S10.

I view his bike after I view 2 continental made (Bmw and ducati) bike on the same day, but however upon he remove the bike cover to let me view, my eyes was gleaming with delight and I said to my wife, it’s mine. It was love at first sight for me. Then he start the engine, it’s love at first heard. Honestly, it was one of the nicest TDM seen.

Riding wise, love it and all thanks for Paikia for taking good care of while he own it. This beast was “beautiful inside out”.

So far only suffer engine off twice at a traffic light. I put it down to my unfamiliar with the bike rather than bike issue.

Zainin... U r too kind in your words. As I told u, your TDM is start and go. No worries on mechanical issues as most had been rectified & most wear/tear parts also changed. Glad you are enjoying the ride. :)

Call me anytime if u have queries about the bike, or like what DivineCreations said, post it up here or in the Facebook page and the fellow TDM bros will be glad to help.

TPS being replaced by Hong Leong in 2008 during the recall... So shouldn't be the issue...

When it dies off, sometimes it will show the error code no. 19...

Two years ago, I brought mine from Hspalt at 55,000km for an 8years bike... Low mileage, under utilized...

Now just cross 87k... In 2 years, I'm clocking half of its life mileage...

Whereas, Thomas 3 years bike already hit 90k liao... Haiiiiii... Ride, ride, ride...

I felt mine is one of the best screen around, althought I didn't brought it. It was install by previous owner, powerbronze flip screen... He brought from Bike21

Just nice wind being channel/relocate right above my helmet... Don't need to fight against the wind blaster even going at 150s...

But got one incident that I ride without the wind screen, it felt like the bike got at least an 20 horsepower increment... Power...

Code 19 is side stand switch error. It can be due to the key ignition. It is link to side stand.

So he grab and run with this piece... He forget how much he paid for it...

Nop, my front fairing still in great condition no splitting... Cracks happens to those who uses tall eagle screen...

Last I checked there was a PowerBronze non-flip up light tint screen at MTechnik. Damage quoted was $145.

But I'm not sure if it's still there.

Get the flip up one better...

Let me go and dig out the link that can ship powerbronze screen to singapore....

Bike21 waiting time can be rubber and ages, if you can wait then just go ahead...

are you the yellow bumblebee that i saw this morning?

i'm intending to use borderlinx services instead. VPost suck, lousy service + package always lost.

Would anyone be interested to import stuffs from PowerBronze for a start, we can share the shipping cost. Normally first 0.5KG is the most expensive.
