Hi to all,

I just fitted a pair of tyres of a new brand ~ Veloce. V5988

Bike: Spark 135

Front Tyre: 80/90

Back Tyre: 80/90

The tread pattern seems the same as TT900:

So has any one ever fitted on this pair of tyres? Care to comment on them!

Thanks!

To Me....

not that convincing as compared to Bridgetone Battlax BT 39SS..

Have you tried them? Hows the compound?

My tyres were gone and it seems that this was the only choice I had last night....

Im using Bridgestone Battlax BT 39SS nw....

Dunlop TT900 is CHEAP :

no good... very light, prone to skid on wet weather, minimal grip..

1 PAIR COST LESS THAN $100

Bridgestone Battlax BT 39SS is NOT THAT EXPENSIVE :

Very Good.. Makes your bike stable, excellent grip,

1 PAIR COST AROUND $190

[Compound]

•BATTLAX BT-39SS uses a newly developed compound provides exceptional dry grip and durable grip throughout the production race.

[Pattern]

•By securing the large contact area, the aggressive BT-39SS pattern is designed to maximize the tires' magnetic grip. The arrow slant grooves of front and rear tires offer (1) improved tread life, (2) water dispelling effect, and (3) durability of grip.

The straight groove of front tire offers good stability in straightway and also reduces shimmy vibration. The open grooves (the tread edge grooves) of BT-39SS front tire reduces chattering.

[Profile]

•The front tire is designed with double crown radius for better handling and solid grip feel in corner. The rear tire is a single crown radius for linear cornering performance.

[Construction]

•Cross belt bias belted

For tyres. Don't just look at the tread pattern. Find out what the compound is made up of. Same tread pattern doesn't mean same performance. BT39SS is good so is the TT900. But do find the ones made in Japan not in Thailand. Different folks different strokes.

okay heres my 2 cents worth of comments.

- avoid at all costs using duro tyres.

- battlax is undeniably good. hot weather is the best for this tyres to perform. rain, not so. i can't really put a finger into it. almost all tyres don't really stick well during rain/wet weather.

- tt900 is a good all rounder and its value for money, i used it for 3 years. tyre profile (80/80) front and back. speeding during rain and hot weather, cornering also good. just watch out for the tyre life ah.. thailand tt900 sucks.. but does its job. tt900gp... now thats the good stuff. japan, waddya expect?

- michelin pilot sport. i've used it on my previous spark. profile 60/90 front and back. stable and cornering no problem. sticks like battlax. very light and strong. problem is, its tube tyre, not tubeless. tyre treads are good. wet and dry weather. would recommend it if anyone wants the low profile look. performs and looks good.

Thrash? Don't mind if i do.

OK...

A mini review after having the tyres for less than a week and so far covered appox 200KM+

Although the handling and grip is still too early to study due to some "wax" still on the tyre it self.

Here my pre-run in results on my Spark (Stock Standard / Limited Edition);

a. Dry ~ On the straights, it handle almost the same as the TT900. Why "almost" the same, because although it has the grip to push my 0.098 Ton Weight to 115km/hr ( True Speed Via GPS / 140 Via on board Bike meter).

It feels floaty compared to the Thailand Made TT900 and the external radial wall doesn't seems to be well re-enforce when taking high speed wide bends (SLE towards CTE side).

b. Wet ~ I tried E-Braking (brake/tyre_lock) on a wet patch and the tyre gave way relativity quickly. I presume it's because it that the moulding wax has not been ran off / break in yet.

I'll update with next review after the tyres has hit the 1000KM mark.

Cheers!

*My pass experience with Kups tyres started with the TT900 (which was made in Japan than) back in the early 90s...more than 16 years ago. While the Thailand Made TT900 seems has the same compound as the Japanese made.

The Thai made tyres has to be always kept at correct tyre pressures other wise... uneven wears and tyre will experience bloated areas.:faint:
