I think I can sort that out (luckily the power outlet is within reach), I'm left with the glaring issue which I have an idea on how to solve it partially.

Not sure abt other S10 but I had the original germin cig charger type plug into the S10 outlet for de last hatyai trip.

Due to vibration, the plug keep popping up & GPS keep prompt of power off option....annoy de hell out of me during riding that I unplug & depend on the batt.

Next thing back home is get the direct tap power type of charger by germin.

U may take note incase u need such charger cable as well.:thumb:

Yeah. I had the same issue with the charger popping out as well. Upon inspecting, i found out that the walls of our S10's power outlet is smooth. Comparing to those using aftermarket type, the S10 power outlet walls do not have an indentation to lock the plug while the aftermarket type has a small indentation with the walls of the outlet.

What i did to prevent the charger from popping out was to stick electrical tape around the the neck of the charger plug. Just go 2,3 rounds the neck until the charger plug can fit snug without popping out. So far its working even at 140km/hr.

Anyone knows what amphereage fuse the power outlet is using? I burst mine when i tried to hook up an air compressor.

Yamaha factory fitted with 3 amp only , u can replace it with a 10 amp fuse.

If it still pops out, I guess i have to go the direct routing like u, hockie.

If your solution works then can do away with the garmin direct tap charger cable.

As I use de iPhone as Bluetooth mp3.so I need the DC socket for the charger as well.

Over time when too much stuff need power then I may get a ram board which is mount at the handbar which offer another 1 extra socket. :cheeky:

Notice !

I am still finding a blue S10 owner who is willing to a 1 to 1 exchange for these items,

- side panels ( the one covering the battery on the right and the one covering the radiator on the left)

- rider and pillion seat

Exchange ur silver panels with my black panels.

Exchange ur silver/black leather seats with my all black seats.

If the exchange is successful, Ur blue bike will look almost like the current 2011/2012 S10 with the blue/black color theme. Only the shade of blue will be different.

Criteria:

- ur silver side panels must be free from scratches and stickers

- clean seats with no scratches.

Let me know if ur interested to do the exchange. Can either PM me or sms me at 94369623 for discussions

Thanks.

Bro,

Have you got your side panels swapped with any of the bros here?

I will be collecting the used silver s10 at ASP changi on Monday.

If you are still interested, I am willing to swap.

You can contact me at 96226245.

Cheers

Wow, how much did that 350km Silver Ten cost?

$28.5k bro.

Here is my 1st 100km on the bike, comparing this to my previous ride xjr1300.

1. The engine I felt a little rough, may be it is not broken in yet.

2. Power delivery, both S and D mode, traction on and off, didnt get that surge in acceleration like an inline 4, more like a steady build up.

3. Riding position is superb, really comfortable.

4. I felt it is much more lighter then xjr1300

5. The rear brake lever, to me its too small. Several times, my foot just couldn't find it!!!!

Any comment on this?

Need to check with bros here, I am getting this kind of "whinning" sound when I open up the throttle at highway speed, more like coming from the front. Is this normal?

Cheers
