Pasir Gudang Cheese Crab Makan Outing (Halal)

Date : 06 March 2010

Time : 2000hr (Headcount and briefing) Will move out by 2030hr

Meet up place : GP Esso

Closing date : 12pm on 06 March 2010

Please add in your name if going and do not turn up last minute if your name is not in the list as I need to order some of the food before hand

 

Organiser : Mark C. and Scarab.

 

Things to note :-

 

Distance from GP Esso to Makan Location : 90km with 1km stretch of dirt road. Not using Pasir Gudang Highway. Using a new road so distance is longer but less cars thus we don't have to slalom thru the heavy traffic. There are petrol stations to and fro so those with small tanks do let us know before hand.

 

Amount to bring : Food only RM40 or less. Bringing extra RM will be for your petrol.

 

Newbies are most welcome as the travelling speed will be around 100kmh or less. It'll be a good experience, too, as you'll have a chance to ride in pitch darkness under our guidance.

 

Do make sure your bike is in a good condition as the best we can do is fixing a flat tire. (But will collect from you SGD10 for the foam) Any thing worse more than this that cannot be solved we will call for tow at your own cost.

3. The last stretch of dirt road. Don't worry, it's not as bad as it looks. Do be careful though.

Note for newbies :

 

1. Bring passport and fill up the white card before hand.

2. Make sure touch n go card got at least RM4.00 inside, if not buddy with someone.

3. Make sure your cash card got at least SGD2.00

4. Make sure you're are properly attired. At least fall, not so painful(subjective)

5. Bring enough cash for the meal and your petrol.

Summary

 

Meet up time : 2000hr

Move our time : 2035hr (late by 5 min due to latecomers)

(Note: must make it a point to move out on schedule, latecomers have only themselves to blame. Unless 50% or more are stuck in the jam)

A few did manage to go by themselves. This not encouraged though.

 

Speed during the journey varies between 90 to 110kmh.

 

Distance one way is 87km plus return trip is about 176km

GP Esso to Senai turn 22km

Pasir Gudang turn is 28km i.e. plus 6km from the Senai turn. (2 left turns are very close to one another, take the 2nd one that says Pasir Gudang)

R & R with Shell at 61km

Since the road to Desaru is incomplete, there's only one way to go to Pasir Gudang. So just follow the sign till 82km and look out for the "Tanjong Putri Resort" signboard. Turn left in and it's another 5km to the destination. Watch out for road humps and the 1.4km of sandy road.

On return trip, go back the same way and you should see a Shell at 114km mark. Take note it closes at midnight. Found out the hard way last Sat.

After that is follow the sign board that say Tuas all the way back to GP Esso.

 

 

Food. RM300 per table with the following dishes.

1. Cheese Crab

2. Steam Prawns

3. Lala

4. Fuyong Egg

5. A pair of small steam fish

6. Seasonal veggies

7. XO chicken wings

 

Free fruits or ice cream after dinner. Any extra orders like drinks and oysters are payable individually.

dear all please take note of the changes IN TIMING

Just had a night ride to the place to tie down the dishes for this Sat. So when you reached there, try to get yourself in 10 pax per table as collection of payment will be on a per table basis.

 

For those with small petrol tanks, there are petrol stations at 62km and 114km mark. Total distance for the whole trip is about 180km.
