Three possibilities:

1) Fuel too rich (check if spark plug is moist or veru black).

2) Too lean (insufficient going in)

3) Air filter dirty (inlet air nxture insuffiecient)

Best solution: have the carb retuned. if you just done recently, the only other possiblity is that the spark is ot strong enough and could be anything from ignition coil to the cable..but check the condition of your cable and its plug head first.

i juz tune my carb oso .. changed batt coil , batt n rectifier ..

Ok..in this case, I can only suspect the iginition coil and cable. The spark may be weak due to deterioration. You have not mentioned how old your bike is. One way to test for weak spark plug is o have it out of with the cable attach to it and touch the body ground to the engine block and crank to see the spark. If its weak , can tell by small sparking without much blue colour arcing. If this is the case, the problem lies from the spark plug cap all the from caple or can be anyone of the iginition coil (the two bulky like cyclinder back colour thing under your fuel tank. One each has a cable to two cyclinder each.

Not sure what you meant by "get to spark plug"?..its just below the fuel tank.

Not sure what S4 model you have but for PB1 and ver S/R..its on your left hand side midway just behind your carbs in a plastic cyclinder housing secured by 3 size 10 or 8 hex nuts.

Tunning carbs?..its better you spend the $80 and have it done. If you really want..can tell you how..but you get a "vaccum gauge" first and think of a way to keep your fuel running the bike without the fuel tank :D

That's quite reasonably ok lah. I spend more because can't stand the sight of deterioration..meter and spotted rust, faded black area item oso all changed during my period of ownership. feel the pain lah but everyday blink blink clean and well waxed makes your pain goes away :D

Go to Teck Thye and get it refurnished for $240 with extra Stainless steel (I think) spring spacer for better rebound. I did mine for $300 (coming 7 years ago..) and till date still as soild.

better do it..otherwise like someone here I know (one side leak) delay_delay and one day tong_pang gf go over bump kenna one solid "Kock" sound..and the other leak while the previously leaking one damper rod end kenna koyak!:giddy:

the only other trust worthy at a budget of $500 is KYB..at least it's a race proven brand for many years.
