Someone already asked the same question here. Read my post b4 this page #11643 and decide.

 

In brief..the Nology Spark plug is just like your regular plug but beeter sparking due to the silver material (lowest resistance) made but too soft for our S4. Did not met the "at least 30k" claim and wear unevenly...mine was out of proper use below 18k. Do not have a concentrated spark beam like the iridium. Performance all the same..don't expect increase horsepower increament and all type of spark plug is just as smooth when new.

 

The hotwire..I believe it has to be customised length and diameter wise for the right capacity to be use with a S4 ignition coil..not something generic a wire that can be use across the board. This is so because of the number of 'capacitors' (capacitance function design) build along in the wire. It should be good if there is one specifically build for S4. Take note also that the spark plug arrestor is not useable for S4.

 

Has I have tested Nology plugs donkey months ago and as for the hot wire..I have seen the various units three weeks along. You guys decide but "no go" for me. Still using my faithful olf ignition coil and cables for nearly 13 yrs + liao. $s more u spend may not worth the same 53 horsepower u still get end of the day..if it does works.:sian:

Ya, mechanics like us to change everything.

 

Change when the chain has been stretched too much; when it cannot be tightened anymore.

 

btw, i lube my chain weekly. Eversince I changed it in December, never went for tightening before. Take care of it, and it will serve you long and well.

Hey bro, how much it cost u to change a new chain?

 

Its cheaper to chain the whole set that mean..sprocket set and chain. For DID X-ring and OEM (damn good olehdee)..cost is abpout $200-$210. You change your chain only when you know both ur sprocket are still in good condition, otherwise..your new chain also get wear badly.

 

Base on the set price above..chain should be around $150 or so depending on "X" or "O"..btw..go for "O".:sian:

what exactly is the difference between x and o? i know o chains have o rings. what about x?

 

If you hold the rubber seal ring in your hand and see carefully..there are two grooves..one on the side and the other in the circunference center. The "O" ring has only one.:sian:

Welcome and small matter my friend. Oh..remember to check the coolant level after a week and thereafter, a month or more later. Once level stablised..should be okay..say may be every 3-5 months.

Hi Ahpek,

 

Hope you recover fast and well. I wanted to ask, my reserve coolant tank the level very low. Will the engine overheat if like that? The reserve tank also quite dirty with brownish stuff (which I hope isn't rust)

 

Do you recommend any good cleanser? To clean the cooling system?

I scared I buy wrong thing try to cleanse then koyak man :faint:

And if I clean with my cooling system, need new coolant right?

 

The hoses if taken out to clean is it hard to fix back?

Yea bro it's good. I get abt 22-23km/L on highway cruising. When stop and go my fc jialat. abt 17-18km/L

The Greenoil is sold almost everywhere especially in large cars accessories automart like "AutoBac"..etc. Can get at Carefour or Giants oso but they sell at $30 a box of 5 bottles. One bottle can be used for our S4 3 full tank. Its actually is a 'veg' oil or palm oil and what it does is reformulates your fuel to be easily combust and with less carbon. Look at the packing and see the 3 research lab that gurantee it for smooth and better fc performance. Have to use a few bottles before really good result..but some ool get immediate result. Well..shall say depends on the status of your bike condition lah. Stop using only when your bike is smooth enough and doing good. I sometimes buy in bulks so that you guys can get it from me for only $22 for a box of 5. I don't always have so check with me first as I'm not into business in this.

 

This is best use after valves cleaner. Use valves cleaner only when your valves are clogged with combusted dried carbon...interval usage wise, may be a few months once. Once you felt the difference in bike performance for the better, just use GreenOil to maintain. Thye work well hand in hand.:sian:

 

Ah Pek thanks for the info....i have try yur EO, X1R and valve cleaner so i think i want to try yur Green Oil but must wait till im really free lah...quite bz at werk now...Ah Pek i will contact you when im free to meet you up. Maybe would like to do yur coolant service also...Cheers :cheeky:

A big thank you to Mr. William (Ah Pek). Did my 13pt Grounding and EPS V3 from him. Much improvement from my Spec III in terms of pick up and cruising speed. Fuel consumption still yet to check. Just to watch and chit chat with him while he does my bike was the most experienced, knowledgable stuffs you can get about S4's. Be it small small thing like crash bar to 2nd hand piston, to engine ice, and not forgetting his ever famous EO with X1R!!! :cheeky:

 

Now just waiting to change my EO, oil, air filter, coolant service as well! As part of your injuries Mr. William, so paiseh! Did'nt know you were injured at all... Lol! Anyways, have a good rest and get well soon my friend. See you this end month! So yeah thats all I have to say at the moment cus my fever coming back liao, cannot think much... Haiz....:sian:

Btw ah pek, i tried change my gear at 13rpm but once it reach 13.5rpm seems like i lose speeed/power, normal?

Oh mannn!...fever coming back. Do what I usually do..take your medication and drink with hot warm water. Cover urself with thick blanket and over ur head and face too..yah..breathe in your own carbon dioxide os..don't let any cool air in. Like a swana..let yourself sweat for at least half and hour...sure ok one.

btw brothers and sisters,

 

i'm currently using a givi rack on my Version S. the problem i have with the rack is that it doesnt seem "long" enough and my base plate (which is mounted onto the rack at an angle) is like almost touching the tip of my bike's tail..i'm worried that sooner or later it's finally gona contact and cause damage..i did meet up another forumer to view his that previously was mounted on a Version S as well but still the same thing leh..this issue bugging me ever since my bike shop was "kind enough" to throw in this rack and a leaking box (yes, it leaks..:faint:) for me at the point of sale..

 

i dont see this on any other S4's..anyone got any experience in this? though it might seem bo liao to some..

 

i was thinking of getting a used rack, as long as it's in decent condition, so if any of you have, do let me know and we can arrange viewing..

 

i am also looking for heavy balancers..so have can let me know also..

ah pek, u got bulb for s4. hehe.. mine blow i think. feeling better oready?

 

What type..H4 for headlamp or indicator bulbs? If H4..have two spare ones but they are 90/100W..normal is 50/60W.
