Leaking coolant.

Found coolant dripping on the bottom left part of bike (underneath the pump). It flowed via my side stand and found the green puddle of coolant around the stand.Somewhere below there must have a leaked. Had a closer looked below and saw the droplet but have now idea what causes it.

- What could be the prob before having it checked at the nearest bike shop?

- Any ball pack cost projection will be most helpful.

Thanks

Bro. I got the same problem as yours. Have you got it remedied? Please share with me. Thanks.

Looks like Coolant pump leaking. Can be the cover housing rusted inside out and have a small hole and leak under pressure. If this the case..can use Aradite or some other heat resistance epoxy to patch it up. If no hole..you can replace the rubber O-ring seal for coolant inside. There are two rings..smaller one for eo and larger one for coolant..only a few bucks but u have to DIY. For a one and for all solution..have the pump change at about $220.

Ah pek, anywhere trustable and dont cheat $$ workshop to intro? I got leaking coolant when i put the bike onto side stand slanted. My current workshop said it is the pump issue by just looking at it. Did not even do any checks. Please advise.

Good day,

1 qns.

was riding from yishun to tamp over the weekend. first bike trip for the day. 3/4 thru the ride, temp light on meter started to flicker. just nice, came to a stop at traffic light and it went off. while moving off, it started to flicker again for a good 200m then die off again.

parked and checked my coolant reserve at RHS of bike, still at max level. no exponential heat coming from engine area.

is there a cause of concern? this never happened before for the past 2 yrs riding this bike.

Anyone got recommendations on front rear brakepads models? and where to buy?

planning to diy change myself..

plus

@Ah Pek is it easy to diy the gear shift oil seal? i think im gonna diy.. just have to pull out oil and replace new seal only right?

I tried pushing to rpm 6 for gear 2 onwards, alot vibration n feels like over stretching engine.

If I up gear smoothly wld be rpm 4 for gear 1-2, den rpm 5 for gear 3-5, rpm 5.5 for 5-6.

Maybe cos I nearing eo change? Got another 1000km left for 5000 interval.

might be steering cone, wheel bearing all those worn.. Tyre pressure wrong etc causing the stability issues.. have no idea.. or maybe u just used to riding a bike like driving a car ...

i come from riding sp so high reving is like normal to me..

Erm, it's not instability, jus feels like over rev or dragging gear too long.

Maybe I too sayang bike...

Check ur back wheel sprocket and see if it's oversize (previous owner may be an idiot to change for better pick-up)..standard for version S should be 42 tooth..if 44 not so bad but if 45 or 46..you run into over drive easily and has no top speed. Front sprocket should be 15.

Thanks Ah Pek, and my bad for the late reply. Yup, got the pump changed. Cost around the quoted pricing (not more). Appreciate it.

Don't tink meter is the prob..

Speed sensor is just to measure how fast your travellning speed via Engine

Limiter most prolly depends on your cdi

Just that you will not know if you speeding or not. You might be going 70km/h on a 60km/h road.

For Vtec model n above, u MUST need the Speedo Sensor.. Without the sensor or faulty sensor, your bike will have hard time going past 80km/hr as the speed is measures by engine.. Your speedo Needle will oso not be moving.. But Rpm needle working

(Other model I'm not sure)

Unless your speedo is by the Wheel, then maybe u can disconnect the cable & tape it

yes your diagnostic is true, i can get more than 80 km/h (i just feel it).

Non Vtec S4 are all using cable for the speedometer. Less then $20..go LAB git and DIY..simple.

Chain too loose or clutch cable stretch far off. Remedy..just adjust for better tension.

Hi

Any idea how to replace a fusebox? the connections on the underside of it are 'loose' causing the bike to lose total power at the turn of ignition ie no power after turning the key. riding a PB1. somebody recommended rewiring the whole box, any other way? thanks!
