160 machines are made 98 (not in singapore), launch in early 99. Mass production was then launched non stop at the later part after they had revised from the super powerful spec.

99/00 is detuned with a lower lobe cam degree and shorter duration that causes the well known "Tensioner" problems. At 2001 model onwards, problems was rectified. This is just one of the spec they changed to detune and meet the authority.

99/00 is also well known for clutch housing crack, 4-1 exhaust cause subframe crack, insufficient oil supply pump up to engine head, filteration problems leads to injector problems, fuel pump problems etc and etc ... ... I am not trying to scare you, as for local riders they are fine, mostly happen in ang-mos countries due to hard wacking, fuel octance different, amostpheric and climate differences etc and etc ... ...

In late 2003, Suzuki Japan said they had got all wrap up. :p

Hey dude,

Thanx alot for giving me all this info.. Appreciate it.. Jus wanna check with you guys, what is the top speed for your bikes?? I read someone post that you can actually push you rbike cc to 1600??

Hello

Hehehe. Its the 'eee...' sound issue again. Never fails to bug the hell out of new busa riders. Mine is a 05 model too. When u switch on the ignition, you'll hear this 'system initializing hweeee...' sound where u see all the needles doin their sweep across the face of the dials. Start the engine n theres still this slightly audible 'eeee'. Its perfectly normal. In fact it sounds sweet to me.

And congrats to u n glen too. A bike u would enjoy much it is. :goodluck:

Oic.. i still tot its due to injector prob.Scared the hell outta me. :cheeky: Thank you so much

Anyway, dun worry abt the eeee sound as like wad newbusa has said, its perfectly normal. It'll go away after sometime.

I reckon tat the sound is from some electronics initialising.. hahahaha..

i'm riding a K5 busa too..

Yeah wat a relieve. Thank you so much.

There are many model exported out from Japan globally. Frankly I only concern about my model ... ... :D Rest I am not too sure. Maybe our local model busa are all the same maybe ... to be sure about it, check with Guan Hoe.

Singapore model are same as England, Italy, Japan and Spain. Their parts number are the same as ours. :p

To do a transplant, will be good if you can get 04model onwards.

http://www.smileyarchiv.net/smiley/schilder0012.gif No wonder Loois Motor called me to ask for @#$!$%@$#%^!. Now the whole picture is starting to merge.

Frankly, you are facing with 02 options. 01 do up and sell and buy another busa. 02 do up with an 04model onwards engine with low mileage, spend abit more and take this chance to do a complete thorough job down from bone. :goodluck:
