Places with lots of 'pillow' shops:

Causeway Pt: Above Popular, More Than Words, etc. There are another 2 pillow shops opposite Courts at the round area, 3rd or 4th level. More normal bolsters & decorative pillows at Metro.

Vivo: 3 shops selling soft toys next to the cinema. There is another one on the top (4th?) floor opposite the giant pet shop.

Plaza Sing has the same selection and LOTS of decorative pillows at the very large household supplies store on the upper levels.

Some insights about pillows.

I like naps during lunch time at work. And normal square square seat cushions just dont cut it.

I like a real rectangle soft pillow, with one portion of it cushioning against the hard edge of the table, and my arms can stretch under the pillow and not have to bend my neck too low.

Only problem is having to store that pillow. Not every office I have, got a full size locker or drawer big enough to store that pillow.

Pillow vocabulary:

pillowcracy - government by pillows

All girls in my office - cute pillows deployed to strategic locations makes everyone happy :3

pillowlogy - the study of pillows

May involve evaluation of fluffiness, softness, cuteness, etc

Most pillows are designed to be a compromise - nice pillows may not be washable, cute pillows are too cute to use for sleeping, etc. The art of pillowlogy involves selecting appropriate pillows for various applications to increase the effect of pillowcracy.

Pillowtisation

The process of persuading others to interact with your pillows, thereby allowing you to escape being a target of unwanted attention.

Example -

Someguy: Can you please kindly show me XYZ on your computer?

Me: Ask the pillow.

Somegoy: Hi pillow....

Obviously the pillow does not respond and the source of unwanted attention soon disappears.

He was pillowtised in a negative fashion.

Example 2 -

I brought a pillow to work that looks like a real cat. My colleague sees the cat and runs to the cat (pillow) and pats the cat whist going "awwwww cute".

She was pillowtised in a positive fashion.

Yawnzzz...

I put my pillows thru the washing machine on the weekends.

And since then, I have not been sleeping well. One of my pillow was kaputed because it went from a pillow to a cushion size with its fillings.

I saw from the Japan House that they have the lavendar pillow for $16.90/- but its fillings are buckwheat husks....which means cannot wash.

The cotton wans though is cheaper, also shouldnt be washed, so I am not sure I should buy them.

That leaves me only the washable fibre fillings wans....which I am not sure will be comfortable.

Too bad I cannot afford the Tempur cross shape pillow.

Gotta be careful; decorative pillows sometimes aren't designed to be washed. One of mine (pink heart) shrunk into a little stone, another one (tofu) bloated up and became super soft (!!). The option of not washing them is worse, however.

I got a 1 metre square pillow at Metro that was labelled washable. However I didn't bring it to my new home as it was too huge.

But for future decorative pillows I won't spend $50 on a fancy one (ie from Tangs). I'll take the cushion from Metro ($10) and cut up old fancy garments for their cushion covers. Cheap, shiny 'kung fu' costumes for instance, look good with their shiny blue and gold threads. Just make the 1 meter square pillow 'wear' it.

what is the difference between pillow and stuffed toy?

i got a spider from ikea... it is very nice cause it is just a spider skin, i can stuff it with old bedsheets.

when i want to wash it, i unzip the spider skin and put it in a laundry bag, then dump the whole lot in the washing machine.

boring rider. with a boring bike.

too old to want to appear interesting anymore.

Ah, the good old stinky pillow that knocks you out the sec you put your head on it!

You guys should see my neighbour tenant's pillows and mattress.

Everytime I walk past their doors or open window at the corridor......in danger of fainting.

They are really stinko. They sleep on good mattress on the floor. (I know cos their mother boast about buying expensive spring mattress just somewhere in Feb this year.)

No Bedsheets.......and they dont open their windows to air out the place or even sun their mattress or wash their pillows and blankets. (Cos I never seen them wash in the washing machine or hang to dry at any possible drying area.)

The last time they had a auntie from Malaysia visit. She was so disturbed by the smell, she resorted to sitting and sleeping in the living room till she can ran away home.
