I can skate, basic brake( use the rear brake not power slide )

have been skating for 3 mths++

would like to get a new pairs of skates as the current one is already been stored for 5 years old.

 

 

but before i went to shop, and hear " salesman talk " I have a few questions that i hope to get answers from laojiao here

 

1) what are the numbers on the wheels ? I know Ø78 is the Ø but 80A ?

2) I 'm looking at a buget of 300++ ( not enuf $$$ )

3) POWER SLIDE!!! cool if i'm able to learn in the pairs. if those 5 wheels where a hayabusa, i would like to have a suzuki 1000cc. ( able to handle road and slalom comfortably )

fer ur 1st question, the bigger the diameter of the wheel, the faster u go. but basically playing salom shld use rockers.

 

as for ur 3 question, powerslide can be achieve if ur technique is correct. regardless of whether u're using any kind of skates.

so what do you think my buget should be for a medium user?

 

playing salon should use rockers. . . whats rockers ??? wheels? boots? frame? brand?

rocker = front & rear wheel smaller then middle wheels

preferred wheel setup for slalom skaters.

need some getting used to though.

 

"a" on the wheel indicates the hardness, higher number = harder the wheel.

 

i'll go for the seba fsk series with your budget

(will give skateline a miss, but that's just me)

 

as for the slides, do it on wet mosaic floor, confirm wheels won't stick. (kidding)

yea.. technique wrong. many ppl when performing slides, focus too much on their lower body. Upper body is also equally impt to perform a successful slide.

 

you can picture doing a powerslide or hockey stop like doing a sharp turn. make use of ur twisting of shoulders so that your legs will follow gradually. The slides will come in later when u learnt the turning.

 

Picking up the skill on your own is very satisfying and fulfilling but it takes lots of patience and determination coz u fall alot.

 

but if someone is there to give u pointers, u will pick it up faster. and fall lesser LOL
