i last time 250cc 2-stroker siao.....but now..i think 400cc four strokes are better....after my fren RS250 lose pick up at traffic light to RVF...it really open up my eyes on 400cc bikes....but you must really rev to maximum to play with 250cc bikes...furthemore..4 carbs,4 pistons are more powerful than 2 pistons and 2 carb....cornering wise....250cc is slightly easier to play corner cause of its weight...easier to control...4 strokes bike are usually heavier...im talking about standard setting for both bikes.....250s must really mod to compete with 400cc standard bike.....but if the RVF or CBR also modified to maximum....then i dont think 250cc got any chance....i cant remember which year...spore kallang drag race 100m...cbr400 with yoshimura beat RS250 fitted with arrow and also beat PGM4 fitted with Dogfight exhaust full system(hell angel rider)malay guy...the RS250 is indian rider.....the cbr400 malay rider..overall the winner of is Shah mohamad i think...hes riding ZX7-P1..he beat ZZR-1100....cbr900 i think 3rd....SRAD600 accident when competing with cbr400....CBR400 i think 4th place...and at that time..im still riding my TZR250....i go there to support the RS250 and pGM 4 which was very popular at that time...you can see a lot of 250s,350s on the road compare to now.....and 250s are cheaper than 400cc bikes nd still quite powerful

but remember bro, all the abv u mention all race can, non-legal endcan, and issit with mod?

seriously i tried both PGM4 and RS250 only feel pick up better and partly also becos their original spocket size already much bigger..

bike condition play a important roll , 2 stoke more wear and tear maybe tats the reason.. if not 2 stoke pick up should be faster bahz ..

from idle standing start, 2 stroke may lose out to 4 stroke easily but largely depend on rider. this is because it is not easy to launch a 2 stroke, which requires it to be on the right powerband. too little rev it lose to 4 stroke and too much rev u have the front tyre in the air. much easier to launch a 4 stroke coz of it's wide powerband.

I'm due for Class 2 since a few months ago too...but I'd rather take when I decide to upgrade.

to me both are good bikes.RVF slightly higher bhp in paper but VFR hv more.

i prefer RVF in terms of hadling due to his single swing arm and downfork although i'm riding CBR.

as for maintenance wise,i'm sure lot will agree CBR much cheaper.
