I know that when BlackBerry OS 5.0 was released, the folks at BlackBerry released this thingy called Enhanced Gmail Plug-in.

 

Lets blackberry users perform Gmail stuff on their BB handhelds like putting stars on their emails, import contacts from their Gmail email accounts over-the-air, etc...

 

I checked Options >> Applications. Unfortunately, this app can't be removed because it came with BlackBerry.

 

What I can think of right now: reinstall the entire BlackBerry OS

Hi, I'm thinking about getting a BB bold2 9700 but I've heard that there's a version better improved model coming up. Is that true? Anyone knows?

the newer model heard its a slide model, so depends which type u prefer.

 

 

 

bb so far has improved alot, constantly updating our phone for new updates.

So far, the 'Bold2' 9700 and the 'Storm2' 9550 are the only two phones that can do-it-all. What features you need, each of them has.

 

The former is with a QWERTY keypad, the latter is touchscreen. Well, not really 'touchscreen', but i'd say it's a "press" screen.

 

The slide model is rumored to be the Bold 9800. Looks funny imo for a smartphone to have a slide-out keyboard. This one will get BlackBerry OS 6 first.

i'm thinking of getting a BB, how do i setup multiple email accounts on it? My email accounts are from hotmail, msn to yahoo. Will the telco do the setup for me or i have to do it myself?

Once you buy a BlackBerry, you can either do this on your BlackBerry, or you can visit a website to which you can associate/remove emails from your BlackBerry.

there are many ways to setup ur push mails, ur fone also have the setup to do the config for ur mails

Comparing my wife BB with my iPhone 3GS, I find the BB is very slow when surfing the internet.

Email speed is about the same though.

 

Is it normal for BB to be slow on internet?

On a BlackBerry, you will have one "Messages" icon that consolidates all emails into a single folder. Moreover, those individual emails have their own icons too.

 

For instance, I have 4 email accounts. My BlackBerry has five icons as follows:

 

1. "Messages" folder - This folder consolidates and displays all of my emails in here.

(this can also house my call logs and SMS if I choose to include them here.)

 

2. Gmail email folder

 

3. Hotmail email folder

 

4. Third-party email hosting company with my own @dot.com, using IMAP technology.

 

5. Work email (my company runs Microsoft Exchange server)

Is your wife's BlackBerry a 3G BlackBerry?

Only the Bold, and Storm are 3G smartphones.

 

In your browser, press the BlackBerry key and click "Options" >> "General Properties".

Change your browsing mode from "Internet Browser" to "BlackBerry Browser", see if this improves your browsing speed.

Surfing net on BB phones for me its quite reasonably fast.

As it is using BIS, is the requesting that is slow sometimes. Oh and dont forget if u want to be fast, u've to make sure your on 3G network.
