Hi guys,

I am thinking of getting either an R1 or R6. Is there any advice on which should I get? Personally I like a bike which has a better acceleration. Top speed does not really matter coz won't be needing it on the roads here. Does the R1 have a faster acceleration than the R6? Is the R6 much affected by the weight of the pillion? Hope you guys can give me some advice, thanks =)

hi bro. had a dilemma too like you. wanna buy r6 but in the end r1. didnt regret it thoyugh bro. the power is gd. hmm actually depends on whether u can afford insurance and all. think carefully. n another thing yamah is a hot2 bike i found out. the heat will need getting use to. if u gt the money buy a 1000cc straight. if nt r6 is just as gd. looks sporty n like a track bike. its the financial that counts. tc bro

Just BEcause I fOllOw The speed LIMIT DoesnT mEan i am slow!!

My fren riding a r6 has his sprocket ratio leaning more towards acceleration. Can say when he pickup I can onli see his tail lite on my s4 -.- I am sure r1 can pickup better, but with the way my friend accelerates, any faster would be very dangerous on sg roads...

acceleration r6 will win r1. it's the top end that r1 will own r6 anytime..

and r6 is a supersports bike, s4 is a naked street bike. how you expect to be on par playing pickup? cc win you, geometry/handling win you.. :sian:

and a class 2 bike in sg to play pickup? -.-|||

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....

Hey what do u mean by mid range top? I heard from someone saying that r6 needs a higher rev before you could feel its power, what do they mean by that, can enlighten me haha?

Hi, with regards to the hot r1 mentioned above, it's very true.. i mounted my friend's r1 and the engine's really hot..after which i tried my another friend gsxr 1000 k9, seems much better..

just wondering if r6 would be colder compared to the r1? how about honda's sportbikes? their engine heat i mean =)

Posted

R6 is also very hot! Never really hear people complaining Honda. Hmm, ultimately, it all sums up to whether can u financially support the bike. R1's maintenance, insurance and petrol consumption sure higher.

For me, I got a R6 because I can't afford a R1, even though it is a more powerful bike. But still, I'm happy with the 6. Heh heh..

Yamaha X1 --> FY

Honda RVF --> FQ7***J

Yamaha R6 --> FBC 8**2U
