Hi,

Where do Gilera Nexus 300 ie riders place their IU? Can share the pics?

Mine is fixed on the center of the handlebar using tape only... its nice but i dont tink its secure.. i mean its easily stolen but who wanna steal an iu unit.. wont work on other bikes wout deregistration of the unit itself

hey guys, wahts the idling rpm of the nexus 300? mine is abt 1.75-2k rpm.. is it abit high?

Mine hovers around there as well. I guess it's normal. Don't worry about it.

By the way please book your servicing at Piaggio early. I had to wait 1 1/2 weeks. In the end just went to Botak.

ok here is my proper review of the nexus 300.. my previous ride is an x1r, so i was thinking of upgrading to a maxi scooter.. im torn between the 300s cc ranges. finally i settled for the nexus.. from the selection of sym joymax300 and the kymco xcitingr 300.. i used my wallet instinct in making my decision. meaning the bike price must be acceptable and also the feedback from fellow riders. brand reputation plays a part too.

sym joymax, its a nice scooter..maybe the best maxi out there.. provided im 50 yrs old and got cpf money laying ard and might get this bike to send my wife to her sewing class.. just kidding, no offence but the styling does not appeal to me. practical, yes.. but still must look good. personal preferance..

kymco xcitingr, saw this bike at the cp opp my hse.. was driving my other italian(just a fiat not ferrari :p) ride when i saw this beauty. i reversed and parked my car and went to see the bike. immediately fell in love. double front disc, nice styling and i bet a hell of a storage space.. surveyed ard and asked the price.. waaahhh!! i passed.

scoot the net, saw running mans thread... nexus 300.. now this is one practical babe. i donnoe why im stuck with italian chicks in red ;p. although some ppl said, go for the taiwan scoots, cheap and reliable.. conti bikes are so temperamental.. blah3. well driving a fiat car, i agree with them. the reason italians makes wonderful luxury sports cars cos the build is limited. they cant mass produce a decent car. ok goin off topic, but comes the decision point... i opted the nexus cos it looks good in my eyes, sits me well, and easy on my wallet.. but taiwanese belting is cheaper and servicing is also cheaper some will say.. no point arguing which is cheaper to maintain this dat... to me, i will not be calculative to sumtin that needed replacement every 10-20k.. no point, want save money, buy a wave... get my point..

well i just said my views, feel free to comment. important thing about buying a bike is.. its ur money and make sure u are happy with it. im really happy with my nexus.. be it italian, taiwanese, japanese..impt thing is, lift up dat freaking side stand man.. peace out

1. Does it come with a topbox? Some online reviews said Nexus 300 has a 33L topbox option.

2. Does it overheat easily like the X9 (esp. in start/stop traffic or jams)?

Thanks in advance.

2011-Present: SilverWing SW-T400

2003-2011: X9 Evo

Box looks awesome. How big is it? $300+ is pretty affordable, provided the rack is included.

The price is converted frm eBay. No firm pricing yet frm local distributor. Price is just for box only. metal Rack is accessories n not incl of bracket. Can view at givi website. :thumb:

There's a bracket for our bike. Btw there's a backrest too.

The backrest requires drilling on the original backplate. Not my cup of tea. But the rack and case looks good. Pricing is kinda steep though.

Looks very good for GIVI, but somehow reminds of Hepco and B. Correct me if Im wrong, I thot I read somewhere nexus rack would costs about 180 at SK.

Have yet to chk out the price at sk. Coz still waiting the local retail price of the box n the bracket from GIVI. Going to chk the price of H&B junior box then decide. Whichever is cheaper then will take.:cheeky:
