hi pufferfis,

er.. yah i did looked thorougly thru the list, but they only reflect price.

wad i want to know also is the feedback of those particular EO usage by other s4 owners. esp ver S owners, hehe...

cos i not sure oso if EO would be differently suited for the range of s4, or if they can even range throughout individual bikes, lydat we sure to have headache trying out which is the best for our own bikes liao.

:giddy:

anyway u riding ver S? which EO u using?

ummm...im riding a pb1....i changed to motul300v early this may coz goin to fraser's hill in early may.....so far....its not tt hot...even after 4hrs of hard riding on e nsh n 2 hrs goin up e fraser's hill...n goin back.....it seems to be able to push faster.....not hot maybe it was rainin heavily half e time...

on e other hand e previous owner was using redline oil....n i must admit when using e redline oil....its noticebly much quieter n cooler compared to motul300v...IMHO...i wld prefer to use full sync oil coz i read somewhere it will resist become carbon or something like that when ur operating at constant high temperature compared to semi synthetic......anyways im a newbie at s4..jus started riding it this late april..so cant comment much n hope to learn lots from e experts out there

jus my 2baht comments....

I ride at 70km/hr only...please please dont blow2 at me or overtake me dangerously....wait i change into Incredible Hulk n dont know why my little baby bike will always be ahead of u if u do that

sigh, mech overfilled my engine, so oil was overflowing to my chain and flinging out all over. Guy poured 3.4l of oil into it, cos my 4th bottle of oil i brought home left only 600ml.

any good way to remove 200ml? i'm guessing is remove the nut wait for 2 sec and quickly put back the nut. then i need a big pan to catch the oil. and probably i can't reuse the oil right?

Better suck it out, I once choke my carbs on the VerS after doing something stupid like that. Do it by the filling hole, use a syringe with some aquarium tubing shoved on the end to reach into the oil sump. Don't do by the drain plug! The oil hardly flows until the nut is completely out. But once it starts to flow, it GUSHES out initially, you'll be fumbling to try to thread the sump plug in with all the oil around.

Saw this at Carrefour. Mobil 1 5W30 at $10 per bottle. Is this fully synthetic? Anyone tried? Is it good?

it had been abt one month since i last change EO.

but 3 days ago i start to notice leaking EO. not a lot. cant see it dripping if i stand there for 5 min. but leaving it overnight can see a patch of EO the size of slightly bigger 50 cents coin.

wat is the most likely reason for that? any first suspect failing parts? or just some itchy hand?

Riding non vtec?

Mostly likely the rubber gasket in the front spocket gone case...

Cost less than $20 to fix.

wheres the location of the patch?

directly under the point where the nut is located for the EO to flow out or somewhere near the side stand?

i had the same problem on my Ver S.. thought it was engine oil at first.. was so worried thus brought down to my mech. He said that it's the gear lever seal or something like that..

think like what hachi said "the rubber gasket in the front spocket gone case..."

It cost me $12 to fix.. among other things that had to be fixed..

i had that prob 2 mths ago, tink the thread is still somewhere in the forum.

anw, it cost me $8 to change it at Yishun SPC. btw, that patch of oil is indeed EO, but cfm is not the front sprocket gasket spoilt becos according to the mech, if u need to replace the front sprocket gasket, u need to open up the engine casing or something like (sry, forgot what the mech says liao, but its gona be one big job if the fronts sprocket gasket really need to be replace, thats wat he say lah, duno true or nt).

i went to see my mech.

he said its the rubber seal near the front sprocket. the one that got contact when u change gears. but he say $18 to change that leh, so ex.

(he say rubber seal got big and small. he refers to the small one)

not only that, there is also another part near the pump that is worn off also. that one cost like abt 20+, but he didnt have the part then so didnt change yet.

wah, so heng meh, 2 things spoilt together....

Is the amount of engine oil for VTEC1 = 3.8 litres ?

This is the amount I use during engine oil change with filter, just to be sure it's not too much. thanks.
