Anything more than 10w should be fine as our climate dont really need 0-5w. As for the last rating 40-50 should be fine as well, commonly used are 10w-40, 15w-40 or 15w-50. Now using 10w-40.

care to share share what brand of oil u guys had try b4 on ur S4 ...

change my oil during the CNYs holidays ....

using Liqui Moly(not much option as that is the only motor diam i can find)....

Care to state the reasons why few of you like motul? I had try both 3100 and 5100 and i dun like the feeling of the engine oil at all. Rough, take longer time (more then 5 mins) to warm up, engine sound louder at normal 90 ~ 100km/hr, and got "draggy" feeling. Dunno how to descride.

 

But like Motorex and the AMS oil using now.

Previously also used Esso gold, mobil 1 and repsol (worse, but then the shop only got it, so no choice..) on my Ver. S

 

B4 finally stuck to using Castrol R4...

last time when i rode phantom tried b4 motul.....

but after 1200kms or so ...

the oil start to feel sluggish and engine noise gets louder ....

not to my liking ....

 

just my bottle of chivas worth

total 4T not bad using for around 2 yrs already. cheap somemore.

Trying Total 4T from Carrefour $4.30/L for the first time cos it is so cheap and others who tried it say it's okay. Oil change (without oil filter change) is less than $13 DIY - who can complain about that!?? So far its fine.
