Hi all,

i just brought a sp from a particular bike shop at bukitmerah , the condition was totally suck so i went in malaysia to overhual, so the condition of the bike was much better but the spocket was alr spoilted so the shop told me that the fuel consumption will be higher because it need more power to move the bike, so i get it change and my bike fuel consumtion was better alot for the following week, but now, my fuel consumtion was again higher den last time. so any people out there know any problem with my bike? Thanks for advance! :dozed:

520, that mean aft i change the spoc i compare the fuel consumtion with my friend's sp , its abt the same, but aft riding abt 1 week, my bike was high on fuel consumtion again. like 2 times the fuel when my friend and i traveled the same distance.

Did RPMs increase or decrease after changing the sprockets?

If you'd like to reduce fuel consumption then (+) front sprocket and (-) the rear is best, then you can cruise faster at the same rpm so long as there's enough torque to maintain that speed.

Carb settings also play a part in FC, although in this case it's not recommended to run lean to save fuel (requires engine temperature management, stick to simple mechanical stuff first).

Nah, 2 strokes can get better FC by not riding at 50kmh. They're actually more efficient at higher revs (optimal range depends on gearing & exhaust system).

Yep :D

2S exhausts have an expansion chamber design that reflects sound waves back to the cylinder, literally compressing the fuel-air mixture into the combustion chamber.

The optimal RPM varies with each engine/exhaust system design. Typically the bigger the can the larger the optimal rev range.
