Lol~ the ride can't be awesome without the rider being awesome himself ! =D

2 x Kopi hor :p

Dawn patrol would be fun again !

Though say if we don't want to waste some daylight time on saturday sleeping, a dinner cum night ride will be more time well spent imo.

Adventure.

Lol @ above

We have a difficult decision to make for this weekend.

Wake up early (dawn patrol 2) or sleep late? (dinner and midnight ride)

I'm up for this wkend :D

no preference for timing

Send me a sign, wanna leave it all behind

I'll be leaving the hands of doom...

Rearrange the master plan, take the future in my hands

To be free and not trapped anymore...

Ride The Sky!

Give me wings to fly...

OK here's the plan for the second dawn patrol:

Meet up at Kranji again, same place, same time (0530-0600).

This time we will go round the northern part of Singapore. Although Woodlands -> Sembawang is a densely populated area there are some lesser-used roads that you can cruise on more or less forever.

Head for Yishun Ave 1 and from there, recon the highway from Seletar to Punggol (last time I checked there was about 500m left incomplete. Retire at Anchorvale MacDonalds around 7.00am for breakfast.

The Seletar East Link recce can't be done at night because the street lamps will be turned off. Only a handful of our bikes have good enough lighting for pitch-darkness riding.

There may not be any / much video recording for this one as I will prefer to lead the group because some complicated navigation will be required in Sembawang/Yishun area.

Ask spyder come and switch all his led/hid on. I think the whole road lighted up like daylight :cheeky:

Good idea. Then we all slowly follow in his tyre tracks just like in minefield passage procedure :D

Yea some bikes can follow left and right tyres. Others follow the centre one haha!.

Yes' date=' come show us your all-powerful digital meter. Lol.[/quote']

The digitalmeter is crap -_-", there's flaws

One of it is, under daylight i can't see it carefully, and somehow it's always tilted as it's not tight enough. can't see it properly too.

It's still not calibrated properly. But it's very much to the correct car speed as i ownself tested it with my HUD. The digital meter is as follows

DigitalMeter 61Km/Hr = Correct 70Km/Hr

DigitalMeter 66Km/Hr = Correct 80Km/Hr

DigitalMeter 73Km/Hr = Correct 90Km/Hr

DigitalMeter 81Km/Hr = Correct 100Km/Hr

So basically, just follow the 66, 73, 81 rule and should stay fine!

Ahhh I see what you mean. I think there is nothing wrong with the meter.

It's an undocumented "feature" of motorcycle analog meters to over-read the speed perhaps for safety / ego-boosting reasons. The majority of 2B and some 2A bikes have up to 20% speedo error depending on the make and model. Only bikes like the Pulsar with digital meters read the actual speed (which you can measure with GPS).

What you can do this weekend is ride behind/beside me and compare your digital readout to my GPS console. Like Honda Civic digital speed displays, it's highly visible to others :D

Posted

hmm...perhaps we acn try however, low speed is accurate, but as speed goes higher, the graph shows further and further apart.

BUT! my analog meter is very very near to accurate to my HUD display though. wierd ya? at around 100, it stopped jumping and can stick with the 100. stupid meter...

When it shows 100, my HUD shows + - 5 also

Posted

wah .. 81 to actual 100 .. quite bad lei.

Maybe for me I guess.

I am too used to speedo going higher than actual, so I always wack without caring xD

Not sure if I am still getting the digital console meter. My NSR -> Streetfighter plan is hard to fufill lol!

Projector headlight won't be going good, as battery won't be able to sustain. Though it looks freaking awesome man ..

And the amount of crap load wires will be a tough obstacle as well =_= don't think I'll be able to find much space to mount all the things I want .. my handlebar area will be overcrowded .

Unless I destroy all the wirings and go with individual cylinder meter for each reading (1 odo, 1 speedo, 1 fuel guage, 1 signal/headlight indicator), which means, tons of custom brackets to be devised .

Which I think can get me a 2A bike by then =X

Need to plan again. Sportsbike framework configuration is so much different from a custom bike (phantom).

Adventure.
