Oopss... sad case dropping the machine... its not ez to lift this heavy machine up...

like to share my "bad" habits and i look like a noob when

mount main stand:

i always engage side stand 1st b4 i dismount bike, then slowly move the machine leaning away, engage main stand lift the machine upright

dismount main stand:

i always mount the bike 1st sitting on it to dismount main stand. rocking the back wheel using of momentum leaning forward applying front brake abit as well slowly releasing the main stand while tip toeing.

i small size n really had a hard time lifting the heavy machine upright. Thats y i do this additional "ugly" stuffs cos some forumers had dropped the bike accidentally n due to slippery surface also.

i know of some viffers who actually install slider on the side cowl fairing panel near radiator area at the expense of cutting/modding the coolant container...

just my non-cents

need spares? Think I have a pair. Cheap Cheap nia. But my experience to is REMOVE it. Coz it acts as a leverage when (touchwood0 buang/drop), and many a time, it would break the footpeg off. Somemore it limits you from going lower

Thanks for the tip inzaghi_75, I realise that after my Thailand trip in middle Dec which was so dusty. I have not clean the Air-filter. Will do so this Sat.

Ya Friday, have fun on the VFR. After the initial 3 weeks, now I have grown to love it alot.

I am starting to have a lot of fun on it especially with the rainy season now. The top box is really convenient to put all my stuffs in.

My top speed only 235km, cannot go more already.

My neighbour who is riding a Year 2000 800Fi model, non-forum chap, is also getting 310km++ for his Fi model.

You might also want to look at your spark plugs.

With new plugs, I get abt 17km/l.

The consumption goes down with mileage until at 40000km after the new plugs went in, my consumption went down to 14.5km/L.

I put in a new set of plugs, and the consumption went back up immediately. Amazing.

I ride FI & use use NGK Iridium.

Aiyah...Nothing serious...Just some minor scratches that can be managed with simple cosmetics sanding and polishing. It hurts very much becos it is my Viffer's virgin drop...:weep: After this drop...Hehehe...You should know what I mean. :cheeky: I dun think I will change anything just yet but I will definitely remove the footpeg slider nut.

Always commit my stupid mistake. During riding, 110% concentration and during parking, 50% concentration...Must be the girls wearing minis...:giddy:

I am actually thinking of changing the footpeg to a sport bike aluminium one to give me more grip when I do my corner stuff. I find the rubber too slippery. :sian:

Friday, sorry to hear that U drop your bike. Ok, lesson learnt. Next time take note to look only at your bike when U park lah, No more looking at girls with Mini skirt.

VfrT, thks for the tip. Will do so this weekend.

Personally, I felt that the sliders are not that useful and further more need to cut into coolant so decide against it.

Today, saw a SYT riding a phantom, wearing a mini shorts, drool until nearly fell off bike while riding close to her. So guys 100% concentration when riding. Pls.

Sep 02 to Oct 02- Black Cagiva Planet (1 word Lousy)

Oct 02 to Oct 03- Yellow RXZ133 (Too light for me)

Oct 03 to Mar 05- White Purple CBR 400RR (Not enough style & power)

Mar 05 to Dec 06- Red CBR 1000RR (Wonderful except the magnetic coil issue)

Dec 06- Dec 07- Black VFR 800 (Good bike but not my style, thks for the memories)

Dec 07- Black GSX1000K8 (Nothing else to say except Damn good)

My latest tank of petrol, I put my darling up to cruise always at >4000 revs. My mileage before the irritating blinker is 320km. So conclusion...If you want to save petrol on the Viffer, you can't go slow... :cheeky:

Hi Bro, why you need a damper? I have started to take my darling down on the curves and put her high in the revs during my exits and never once feel her slapping. Unlike my previous Yammie R1, always giving me a wakeup slap when I put too much twist on the throttle.

For hugger wise, maybe you can order from Daren in Regina. He told me Puig has it for VFR.

I guess you guys are right cos I 'm pretty much comfy too with the front during corners... Was just wondering though if there is one available.. but the back does feel like a bit loose if I bring the bike down too much... or maybe it's just my unflattering riding skills...

I'll check out Regina for the huggers but Puig has no mention of it in the website. NWS though has it..

Inzhagi, just changed to Pilot Power after the stock dunlops wore out... They seem to be pretty neat.. but I do feel a bit nervous during wet conditions.. again could be just me..

Nice to see this forum is active.. I'm not a daily or regular rider but it does feel that there are not much of VFR owners comparitively on the streets..

Cheers..

Yes, have to watch Pilot Power during wet conditions. I personally think Pilot Sport does a better wet job. Try to lower your tyre pressure and click in your rear spring compression. Intitially I also find the rear a bit loose on the bends. After clicking into my settings, I am very happy now.

I had a slider on my previous VFR. Went down at turn 1 in PG. The slider was almost completely grounded off. The bolt holding the slider was bent. The fairing was damaged. HOWEVER, all the side fairings only need to be patched up and resprayed. No need for replacement. Of course that slider was replaced.

On my current VFR, the slider saved my fairings from two 0kmh wrestling matches in the car park.

Sure, drilling a hole thru the bottle and fairing is a squeamish job; but if done well (sic) it is worth it. at least for me.

hey... SYT on a phantom? I think I also saw it too while driving to work on PIE somewhere near BKE entrance. Almost slammed the wall while trying to take a pic of it!

The skirt was so short that its flapping and moving upwards untill you can see the ...

then somemore she is in hot high length boots. Personally, apart from feasting my eyes and gettin myself almost kissing the barrier, I think its very under protected as a rider. After buanging in singlet, berms and slippers, i make very big effort not to be in that minimal attire whenever I ride man

Friday13.. care to elaborate more on it...I have'nt exactly experimented with it so it's usually at NORM.

I believed spring preload settings were for single or 2up riding and smooth/harsh road conditions only...

Friday 13 is right! The rear setting does enable you bike to handle somewhat bette, based on eachs rider weight & riding style as that no. of clicks will determine how fast your rear reacts... But erm... correct me if I am wrong? the rear is only for rebound. Not for compression .

spring preload is meant to get the correct ride sag. Its the first step to adjust the suspensions so that you know that ur set of springs are within the compression n rebound zone before they bottom out or extend max.

Yes the sliders are very good for pannier-less VFRs.

Helps to protect the side radiators too when you fall or slide.

I shared the same experience with VfrT, only need to respray back fairing.

The best part is the extremely service oriented motovation dealer who allows me to purchase back the damaged RHS slider instead of buying the whole pair! :thumb:

I was offered SGD1100 for an arrow exhaust at biketech if I remember clearly, the fellow said it was on offer then. Will do so after my warranty with Boon Siew is over.

Got a lot of SYT on bikes now but I don't know how they would survive a crash wearing like that. Usually I will only see such good "quality" during the day, I think such girls don't wake up early.
