You are right. This "culture" seems to be across most viffer riders in different parts of the world. Then again, anyone recently seen a red VFR, more than 1 digit plate, zipping traffic fast?

Why I said this? Coz a number of my frens thought they saw me.. (big red VFR with OEM panniers, 4 digit plate) riding very fast and cutting traffic quite badly. Somemore usually AYE.

i got 4 digit plate no! I am red! I use AYE quite frequently!

hiak hiak hiak... BUT ... no panniers & guess im of a much smaller build than you..

How about the chain? Does it lasts as long?

For the sprocket: Just asking cos I'm worried if previous owner change the sporcket, the speedo may not be accurate...

Think $280 for DID X chain 530 + original front spocket.

Rear still quite good.

Personally, i think the stanley and philips bulbs are pretty reliable. Stanley bulbs are about 20 a piece (if i didn't remember wrongly) coz i replaced the bulbs (chiong, cheap blue ones which always burns) wit a stanley one before, and it never failed so far after 2 years or more.

As for phlips, i have never tried before. But it has a wide range from, visionplus, bluevision, silvervision and so on. They range from normal yellow lights to white lights. (and price ranges from $30~$80+)

http://www.lighting.philips.com/in_en/cons...ighting&lang=en

For your Viffer, it should be using 4 H7 bulbs. Take note that white lights will look brighter to road users, and yellow lights will look brighter to rider (assuming both power outputs are the same). If you want something thats is brighter that you can see better, my opinion is not to get white lights, unless the power output is very much higher.

Do you notice our bikes are producing almost 2 to 4 times the power output compared to most sports bikes? Great rite heheh. Imaging if you gett the HID replacement... yummy!!!

DIY should not be a problem.Bulb replacement is pretty OK. You just need to remove more stuff thaan a sports bike. Tell me if you wanna replace it! Will love to help! i think I will be DIYing my plugs soon. See if you are interested to pop by.

By the way, i have lobang with philips bulbs. Just PM the model you want.

Was told by a bike mech that if bike runs for long time and that the electricity generated is not utilised the batt or the ECU wil get fried easier...

Is there any logic to this?

The bulbs are quite ex leh like that... $30 to 80 and I need 2!

not very sure about this. But if bike runs for a long time (travelling at 10k rpm, 200kmh? for an hr?) the excess charge to the batt will cap of at maybe around 14.3~15.5V. It will taper off.

But if you are talking about traffic jams, then the batt might not get charged properly coz you will need definitely more than 3~5k rpm to chare the batt effective. If in this scenerio, not only the batt will be drained, the recitifier might be fried due to the excess heat that is not able to dissipate away fast enough. As for the ECU i am not sure. But it is very near to the rectifier though (mounted on the right side, just behind the VFR word)

By the way, the price is for 1 pair of bulbs. Since we have 4, then you need 2 pairs! By the way, you will also need to find wite pole lights. Or else its gonna be yellow again even if you have the white ones in.

Anyone interested for track session on 20th Feb 2005? Lets have a VFR shootout man!
