Haven't used or really seen the other brands except NWS. Comments on it

Pros i think

1. Looks awesome! Best shaped to match the bike so far I have seen

2. Super secure & easy installation. Prob take 15 mins max?

3. Neat covering of hoses.. & styled to match too!

4. The shocks are very much cleaner! not to mention the under tray!

5. Does not affect rim removal or tire change.

Cons

1. rubs after market exhaust downtubes upon shock compression. (so far laser n leo vince pipes touch).

2. Hard to clean if you have side pannier brackets. I dunno why i always get my hand cut :giddy:

3. erm... can't think of anymore liaos :cheeky:

Maybe KOMA can review more since we ordered together?

wah the price motovation r quoting u sounds attractive. best way to order is to phone them directly which i did last time but u gotta phone them early in the morning like 3-4am singapore time cause of the time difference :p

Hi, I am new to this forum and am currently looking at buying a VFR800A2 version of about 2.5 years. Can anyone help me with the following :

1. What is the main difference between an A2 and an A3 version

2. What would be the market price of a 2.5 years A2 version, 1 owner

Thanks and I hope someone can help me with the above

not much diff between a2 & a3. I know my model A2 does not have hazard light switch and I can switch on headlights. Later models have a hazard light switch instead. So minor changes.

I bought my VFR for around 14k+ when it was 2 years old. That was 1 year ago. There is a diff in with or without ABS and side panniers

VFR800 VTEC ABS since 03/2005 :

XR400 since 05/2006 SOLD

Silverwing 400 since 11/2007

CBR 1000 RR7 repsol since 5/2009 SOLD

Thanks for your quick reply. This one is with ABS and side panniers. May 2003 bike with number plate FW6555J. Mileage is 17,800km. Not sure if any of you know this guy? How much would it be worth... now?

A2(2002) & A3(2003) Has no difference except the 02 has a headlight switch, the 03 has nothing on the switch panel.. and the 04 has a hazard light exactly where the 02 headlight switch is (so main lights remains always on)

Other than that.. there ain't any difference from what I know. Other care to add in your knowledge?

Finally bought the bike at S$11k. FW6555 May 2003, mileage 17,800km with panniers and ABS. Right side fairing slightly damaged due to drop. Not sure how much repair will cost... maybe around S$500. Where's the best place to repair VFR fairing and paint work? The only shop I know and been to is Yeow Motors in AMK. Any other recommendations?

That's a very good price! I assume you bought it direct from the owner. Is it a red VFR from a caucasian owner? I would wait with the repair for a while and get used to the bike first. I also dropped mine more than a few times in less than a year. Luckily I got those sliders installed so damage is limited to some minor scratches

Actually I tot it was quite reasonable. One of the bros, rstopel bought his at S$14k for a 2 years old. This one is about 2 years 8 mth... so I tot S$11k is about right.

Yes, it's an American Caucasian owner who's left the country and the secretary selling the bike for him. I tot some of you might know him so will know how well he maintains the bike. Well, it's the first time I'm riding a VFR and bro rstopel, you may be right... hang on to the repairs first cos I might just drop it again. Where is a good place to install those sliders?

Yeap, had my slider done by clifford. Bought it of motovation(in-directly). when to K&T for the installation. Had to make an appointment cos clifford very busy. But it was worth it. Drilling my rad bottle and patched it up really well, no coolant leak yet(touch wood). Total expenditure $100.

Just collected my bike. Boy was bro rstopel correct! As I made a u turn to park, I dropped the bike... fortunately on the same side as the damaged, thank goodness. It was a stationary drop, so no damage... but this bike is heavy! Took me a while to lift it up!

Well, welcome to the club. I never managed to lift it up by myself. Wrong technique i guess. Think I met the rider once at tanglin mall car park. That was some time ago.

Think it is a steal, I dun have the panniers which alone cost almost 2k

3. Higher handlebars or extensions... any recommendations

4. Sliders

If any bro here got any of the above to sell, please do let me know.

By the way, does anyone know if a new one comes with the matching cover for the rear passenger seat?

Thanks

take note of leak after installations. Few guys in UK encountered this.

I have a brand new Givi windscreen un-collected yet from chiap lee. You can view the pics here for the screen.

Those pics with a tall screen is the givi D217S screen. So far works great covers well. Especially rain!

Drop me a ring at 96950802 if you are interested.

All VFRs come with the rear passenger colvers as stock. If you did not have it, maybe ask for it again? Maybe the previous owner forgot about it. If he really dunt have, try ebay.com. Cheap cheap nia
