I didn't want to sell it, but my cousin who's going overseas to work for a long time, just got his bike not long ago and he bought many 'delicious' accessories. So I chose to sell mine and take over his bike. And furthermore, I love touring and the hornet just ain't the comfy type to go up north. I brought it up to Alor Star with a pillion last Xmas. Was intending to hit Thailand with it but my friend crashed and we had to abort our plans. The hornet CAN make it, but I still think my cousin's bike can do better. It's a 1000cc sports tourer.

Wooo... what an insight, how many choices of st-fighter u have in mind before concluding hornet as your choice? How you find the comfort of riding hornet? Seat & posture?

are we able to fix aftermarket headlight to the H9?

sure you can, there's CB900F owner "Rykros" he manage to fix FZ1 headlamp on its bike. But I still prefer its round retro styling head lamp. You riding one as well?

the racks just takes ages to arrive

No worries, there's 3 choices that owner can choose from, SW-Motech, H&B and Givi.

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

true but the ones from sw motech and hb take ages to arrive.

i ordered one initially from hb thru mtechnik in 2007 but after 4 months, they still had no news of my rack so i switched to sw motech thru biketech21. i think it arrived after 4weeks? givi racks hmm, i didnt quite look at them coz i had my junior boxes that i wanted to mount on them.

right now i'm looking to order the racks again. i hope mtechnik can get them soon.

I'm rather amaze by the flexibility of SW-Motech racks which able to accommodate various brand of boxes n panniers. Which I find them real good, but they are much more expensive than H&B.

fork? The OEM fork looks good, end can you can consider laser extreme, GP style very nice n loud.

I didn't really have other street fighters in mind because it just came into my mind that it's time to ride back a 600cc. After thinking of the availability of naked 600cc bikes, I find hornet the most attractive. Moreover, it's a Honda. For comfort, the stock seat is good enough for me. I'm a 1.80m tall but underweight person and it took me well and far. The posture I would say it's just almost perfect for my lengthy arms. If it isn't a highly priced bike, I believe those super4 riders would go for this bike instead.

I have to agreed with you, if they price this baby well... I bet its a fierce fight among Fazer 600 and other 600cc. It seems that loads of effort dedicated in improving CB600F.

CCK? Wah tat's quite a distance... my area so far no CB900F seen, there's once in the traffic while I'm waiting for my right turn. In USA, they name CB900F as 919 (*cause there's another vehicle name "Hornet", copyright/trademark issue I guess) whereas in Europe its commonly known as Hornet 900.

Any serious modification done on your CB900F?

LOL I called mine a "Colossal" 919 ;p

Which type of Rizoma mirror you using now? I'm using Super Four Chrome type square mirror.

Wah you have a main stand? SW-Motech have one for CB900F but 100++ wor... (*should be in USD)

Mine came with BMW grips, Dynamax Volt meter, Flapper Mod, K&N air filter, Hella Horn, Super Four square mirror, reed valve, fender eliminator, pirelli tires, gold chain and big size super sprox rear sprocket.

Saw a Hornet zip past kaki bukit area, with side pannier... not sure if its a CB600F or CB1000R. ^.^

I am using a small regtangular mirror, change to Koso as it too small, but change back, as koso vibre too much. lol

fine someday for a coffee session, it nice to meet another 919 rider. =D

saw the braveheart 919, the color is very nice, maybe should build something like that. heehee

There's a period of time I'm considering "Koso" mirrors too, but review from others are it tend to vibrate crazily at certain speed. I saw a few st-fighter with "diamond" shaped wing mirrors... Love it, seems like "Rizoma" product wor, USA riders seems to be seriously hardcore in modifications...

Now I'm very satisfy with the current state of my 919, except that the pegs are partially rubber would like a full stainless steel type. I shall PM you my contact!

ya, USA guys love to mod their bike, most properly is that they have no limit in modification, they can even build up 1 out of scrap yand. =D

wat the color of your ride? mine is a gun metal, thinking to change to malt black or some other malt color. =)

Mine isn't new. It's born in 2007. It's the Italian styling model. Not made in Japan. I suppose it isn't the height issue. When we lift our feet off the ground, I don't think there's much difference. :cheeky:Maybe the seats are of different material.

Same mine a metal gun gray too.

Yup agreed, their works are totally out of mind. So long it doesn't hinder performance or safety would be nice. Frankly speaking, CB900F stock condition pretty good for a me. If can shed OFF more weight would be nice, sadly not many accessories for this baby... many aftermarket pipe but too typical shape.

Usually st-fighter bike don't get to revise that often as it racing counterpart, the current design is very good, but speedo looks "weird" to me. If I'm not wrong Hornet first start off in Europe, for CB900F there's JDM model as well, out look is the same except that its color theme & speedo maximum speed at 180km/hr. As I browse through Honda Jap site, many of their st-fighter are equip with dual rear shock and some common features, round head lamp, clock style speedo, chrome mirrors, ex CB1100, CB1300, CB400 :)

My speedo is the digital type.I don't find it weird though. The Italian designed hornet looks totally different from the JDM.

Do you mean comparing 1st Gen CB600F against 2nd Gen CB600F?

New speedo a wee bit resemble CBR type of speed, big tachometer with digital 7 seg display for speedo. Doubt there's CB600F Hornet in Japan, didn't came across this model in their Honda site. Guess its a Parallel import bike in their country.

crap.. i need to do some patch work and respray on my tailboard..

What happen man? I wish for a re-paint of my bike and patch up the crack on the front fender.

LOL, I wanted the bike but like the uncle said the price drove me away... is it the Yellow Hornet in the display room?

sigh, it was pricey and guess wat? the new model for 2011 is being released soon too

some restyling done but the engine seems similar

2011-honda-hornet-unveiled/

From some angle it seems no difference from the old model, guess nothing done on the engine part :) or maybe little it seems like an exciting year 2011 with all sorts of bike introduce to the market. I wonder apart from pricing, what other factors which keep riders away from investing this ride?

the cbr600f seems to be released too, seems like a fairing based hornet.

Yeah, sports touring version "CBR600F" looks quite awesome.
