For those riding SP, there is this tube beside the side stand (not sure for oter bikes) right?

Just now after riding for approx 1hr when I reached home and turned off the engine, my coolant just poured out of the tube! May I know what is happening?

Also, my bike has recently been towards the extreme of H of the temp guage.

Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

Thnks : )0

I was suspecting a coolant leak for some time. Better not ride the bike - send to 'doctor' for repair.

If you need to limp to the bike shop check coolant level one final time, top it up and go slowly. For additional emergency cooling splash water onto the radiator panel (like the 'water injection' on rally cars) to increase efficiency temporarily.

hmm, likely something wrong with the cooling system, i assume it could be the radiator cap or pump.. but i may be wrong.

Do get it check at the workshop asap. Could potential damaged or gaskets or cause your radiator to crack from the excessive heat which could be costly.

hey ppl thnks for the replies.

i went to have it checked up the oter day and the mech was saying one of my valves could be damaged causing the leak. he was saying it could cost up to 300 dollars. and that if i were to have it checked, by opening up the (no idea whats that), theres no gg back meaning if its spoilt i have to chnage it and bcause of that i choosed to delay it as i dont really trust what he said.

so i decided to listen to some forumers idea first before decidig my next course of action..

Yeah, $300 is a small price to pay compared for more serious failures. Overheating eventually causes valves warping, piston jam, etc. Bad things.

Might as well send 'er in now and be done with it. Just pick the right mechanic. You want honest and knowledgeable guys that don't carrot. (Planet Motors is IMO one of the best for that. They can finish the job in one day too, provided you visit in the morning and get the boss's attention).

hmmmm? thats the coolant overflow i think, bikes dump coolant from there when the engine gets too hot.

i think you should go to planet motor, it could be a simple thing such as a poor brand of coolant.

honestly doubt valve damage will cause this, and with valve damage i think you it would be obvious to you when you ride, such as poor power delivery. do yourself and favor and go bikeworkz or planet motor, honest mechs. not too say yours isnt, but a second opinion dosent cost money... 300 for valve work that may not be needed is. and 300 dollars? thats expensive...

Coolant cannot tahan the heat and boil is it? Lousy coolant always lead to radiator problems. Expensive lessons learnt a few years back. It wiser to spend a bit more for a better coolant like water wetter or engine ice eg.

hmm bro

i use tap water also can tahan..

But tap water can make rust the cylinder + head lah. Haha.

Used distilled water or mineral water wont rust they say.

Anyway my bike is a 20 year old sports 2t.
