I'm guessing your rear brake shoe worn already... shoe is only $3... +workmanship maybe $5.

hey thanks man..erm ok i'll check on that..

but the sound only becomes evident when i press the front brake harder..

i've experimented, dragging my bike forward while pressing on front brake, the sound comes out. But when i move backward, there is no sound..

so my likely guess would be the worn out of the brake pad?

ask mechanic to blow the dust out from your front brake with an air gun first... see if solves.

If it doesnt solve the problem or it comes back after few weeks, you need to service the brake housing.
