I'm also stuck between X-hot, PCV and SYM EVO 200 to replace my gilera DNA which is reaching its 10 yrs life span next Jul. I've seen all the 3 bikes. X-hot is a beauty with good quality front suspension, handle bar and disc brake. The problem with x-hot is its rarity in Spore and i learnt my lesson when i bought my DNA 9 years ago. parts limited unlike runner where parts are readily available. For PCX, it's a bit overpriced but one of the key features is the engine will stop from idling after 3 secs and after that, when you turn the throttle, it will move off immediately without jerking. (seriously i dun like need this feature and you can choose to turn off this function)

Another feature that amazes me is the ignition is almost silent when you start the engine. One problem (IMO) is the installation of box at the rear and due to the shape of the bike, the brackets have to be specially modded. Well, it may not be much of a problem after all as the bike shops may have a way, but having a box is one of my criteria in selecting a new bike

Lastly SYM EVO (200cc). Looks cheap and price is abt the same as PCX. I've seen some of them OTR and this bike receives good reviews from a owner whom i approached and some of the bike shops. it is big as well and I might be choosing this bike after all.

For your reference

appreciate ur inputs bro, juz some clarification->but is the parts for x-hot really limited ..as i always thought that its more of a problem for european made bikes not as in this case a taiwanese?.and to add on..i think the sym evo looks nice too:)

Peace

Its a norm that we have to spend much more riding a scooter than a cub but the rarity of a particular bike plays a part. From my understanding, Hiap Aik trading is the sole dealer for x-hot, unlike runner which had already gained a foothold in spore, thus parts are readily available.

If more ppl are riding a particular model, then supply will come in since demand becomes higher. x-hot is relatively new in spore and i hv not seen any otr. Any aftermarket parts would hv to rely on Hiap Aik (unless you are importing yourself rather than getting from our local mkt) coz i believe Tai Hin and future wont carry unlike for Gilera runner.

End of the day it boils down to your preference. For me, i wanted a 2b maxi scooter and durability is one of the deciding factors. So far sym evo is first on my list followed by x-hot and pcx. Before i sign on the dotted line i gonna take a look at Daelim S1 and S3 as the latter was a real beauty (smart key system and twin muffler) Sigh, sometimes i might act out of impulse.

checked with roy from CKA (kaki bukit br) verbally. The price otr is 8k plus (with insurance/coe/road tax) for over 30 yrs old. when i asked abt the price and availability of spare parts. He said availabilty no problem and definitely cheaper than Gilera. He told me the engine is different from s1 (another 125cc bike) and thus can hit 120 easily. I took his words with a pinch of salt. sym evo 200 would cost abt 7k plus but s3 techology like dohc, twin muffler, ignition should compensate for the higher price. Like you, i curious abt the performance, problems etc and moreover, if there's no mkt demand and if i buy the bike and after 5 yrs where more wear and tear will come in, i may hv problem getting spare parts shd the bike is no longer in production. I hust have to wait for the mkt to mature if any decision. Anyway, my bike coe is jul 11, so i still can wait ard 9 mths or so.

8k plus!!! wow thats overprice, tot korea is good at slashing their price, yalah bro..quite concern bout the performance & wear & tear....me riding X9 now, really used to twist n go bike hehehe....1st tot of pcx..the engine is no issue cos its HONDA...but the bike to damn low for me lei....im like the ang moh guys in the pcx ad...but me abit more baby fats on the belly...u guys imagine tat lol....well guess hav to wait any S3 user in sg for feedback...btw bro why some called the bike Q2??

My opinion as of now

Pcx is indeed low and one of my criteria is to put a box onto my new bike. But i imagine putting a box onto pcx, i think it doesnt look nice le. The price is 7k plus which i had checked.

If i have to choose btw sym evo 200 and S3, i would choose evo if i intend to ride for 10 yrs and s3 if i intend to ride for 3 yrs. Look at my DNA, tks to runner that it's still running and kicking coz i'm using after mkt parts for runner like braking sys, rear lights etc. But my digital meter is spoilt, front fairing cracked for the past 3 years coz my panel would cost more than 400 sgd and fairing no longer in production (unless i could find online)

for evo 200, parts are pretty standard and not too "exotic" like the s3's ignition system. I still can depend on GTS200's parts and i believe sym will churn out similar design/model in the future (i hope so) unless next time all bikes are using s3 ignition (but who can predict the future) Stress! still cannot confirm what bike to get. Wait lor

Not sure if I've seen wrongly not, but I think I saw a guy riding a black one around Jalan Kayu area this morning, nice scoot... :D

I don't blame people who doesn't show courtesy, they just didn't get taught on how to do so.

no la...not confirm. must sell this x9 1st. anyway...leaning towards sym excel II. cheaper. n surprisingly its the best selling scooter in australia.

pcx cheapest i asked is 6.3k. excl insurance. insurance i believe is ard 400-500 for TPFT. so all in should b ard 7k. sym excel is abt 5.8k all in. so...save me ard 1k+. altho honda is a better choice ppl might say. pcx is ok la...its supposed to b low. "lowrider". n the fc is gd.

so....still undecided.

bro, but hv u seen s3 real life? i definitely is not as gd looking as in the pic. i was totally fooled. i went to cka jurong east, n asked the salesguy where the s3 is. was surprised that i walk right in front of the bike n didnt take a 2nd look. the pic really got me fooled. n...it is also not that high. but cant deny the features r nice touches.

i suggest u go take a look if u havent. i dunno abt the others...but i don tink its nice.

saw many pcx in pattaya thailand, mostly for rental and it was popular among angmohs.looks really good especially the white/beige scheme. would love to get onebut price is a put-off.

OT abit, u guys can check out the new kymco downtown 125i, looks good too.

I tink in spore don hv the white/beige color. Only white/black. Anyway the price is not bad if u hv the budget.kymco? Worse than Honda. The downtown is ard 10k. Makes the pcx seem like a bargain. I finally decided on sym excel ii, due to gd reviews n also my budget.
