3. PES C REC will up rank to PTE after u completed BMT, allowance + $0

min 15mths into service u will up to CPL, allowance + $50 (you must hold the rank of LCP for at least 5mths)

 

min 21mths into service u can be recommended by ur superiors to up rank to CFC, allowance + $50. (only top 30% of CPL can be promoted to this)

 

but take note the guidelines for promotion to CPL and CFC rank is only applicable to svc and tec vocations. for combat vocations, 12mths can promote to CPL and 18mths to CFC.

but my ns life quite good la, even tho i from infantry unit. Dunno weather gt more mature anot, but definitely tougher. At least now i can sleep anywhere.. hot, cold, floor also can, dark places dun feel scare coz i been alone in e jungle at nite b4, nt fussy bt food anymore and i am more $ wise! upz for NS!

First 3 months of NS was considered a holiday for me. Everyday run, pumping, run sommore, non-stop jumping jacks, run with equipment, shooting, kenna "F"ed, free food and lodging, wash clothes only 1 dollar, awesome friends, everyone called you a bowl, you called everyone sir.

 

Everyday body broken here and there until got so many injuries. But the best thing for me is that, we got taken care of. Food, lodging and people do the thinking for us. Just listen. Don't listen kenna 'F'ed. I swear, all the physical torture compared to the A levels is nothing. If i had to choose to do one again, i would still be sweating in the multi purpose hell, eating mud and forced to run with the constant threat of being charged. Man, i love NS.

Yeah good life. Once you get posted to division, money really becomes a problem. Haha. Hell, when i was in camp for the first 3 months, i begged my SSGT to keep me during the weekends. He told me the only way to stay back is to get confined, which seemed tempting until he told me it was illegal and was a chargeable offence.

 

Anyway, I was thinking, instead of making the bangla, they should ask the "foreigners" to wash the cars and ships. So at least they can serve NS while "protecting Singapore's best interest" eg: Not allowed to go to high security clearance areas that only Singaporeans can access.

IMHO, NS does have the ability to show whether someone is matured although it does not necessarily make someone become more matured.

 

Some people don't mind NS. Some people hate NS. It's how they go about handling the two years that shows their maturity. Do their job, do better than their job or just whine all day. It all depends on the person.

 

My friend's husband is so proud of the fact that he does not need to serve reservice due to his PES status. Is that something to be proud of? To him, yes. To me, it's nothing to be proud of cos it just means that he's one sick man.

my attitude towards ns had always been: be realistic, this country really no choice but to implement NS. and since that means LL must do, might as well make the most of it. i personally find no point to KPKB that ns waste time waste money leaders cannot make it etc etc etc.
