I'm using my Northface jacket. It's originally meant as rain gear for climbing, trekking. It works in keeping the rain out, has velcro at the sleeves, and it has other features which enables it to breathe well. One downside is that it tends to billow out in the wind, have to adjust mirrors otherwise all i see in my mirrors is my jacket. The other downside is that it's pretty drab looking, being grey/brown color. I saw TP riding in the rain the other day, they wore florescent yellow rain gear, super noticeable. Don't think I'll go out of my way to get a bike raincoat, as my current setup works fine for the rain. But may add on a high visibility vest or something.

Heh heh, i thought i'm the only one using the northface jacket as rain coat. keeps me super warm too.

what are you using for your rain pants bro?

When touring, its usually the rider that give way first before the bike itself.

got box got tour.

Thaks thanks, i jsut brought the timberland waterproof jacket, come with the internal soft layer for cold weather, removable. I using just the waterproof layer for riding, so far so good. Brought at IMM timberland factory outlet, discounted price of $200.

Good thing is, i can bring to cinema for gf or can be used when going oversea.

Yup, only down side is, don have reflective stickers like the riding jacket.

some other trekking rain pants from Columbia. got velcro at the ankles and slits at the pockets so i can get at my things like cash card. breathes well enough for me. and like escapee say, can use it off the bike too.

my only other experience with other rain gear was the plastic things they had at the driving sch. wet from rain and wet from sweat.
