Well,I'm into sport bike.I've got my eye on Aprilia rs125 and also yamaha r125,but it's just that a student like me cannot afford it.:(

If by installment, how long will the installment takes to clear?

If ure thinking about buying Aprilia, and have difficulty buying it with full cash, and dont have a fixed income, i would recommend u to get another bike like sp or kr. U will not be able to afford it. if there is anything wrong with ur bike, i bet it is going to sit in ur carpark until u get ur allowance. I am sure u wont want to worry about getting your bike fixed, paying for installments, paying for servicing, etc everyday when u wake up, do u?

i ride an RS and i payed roughly about $10k full cash second hand (using my own funds from earned bonuses btw, not parents money - NEVER..)

I'd recommend you to stay away from RS if you are concerned about expenditure and fuel consumption etc, frankly especially when you are a student without fixed income. (Unless you are packed with pocket money, then its okay).

Yes it comes with the most sleek design and *****-stained pillion seat but you gotta treat it nice. It is always mistaken for a 600cc or 1000cc and i have met a lot of ppl that have given up on this baby for apparent bad 'parenting' habits.

Why? RS will definitely cough if you do not service it for 6mths or more. In fact most sports bike do if health + maintenance is neglected for a long period of time.

Otherwise, i have never regretted getting this baby and my Vespa is getting lonely at the carpark.

COE-wise, it is a new model depending on its year of make - still longgg way to go. Insurance, im getting $1k a year at 25years of age.

If you are passionate, you can do it. :)

Hope this helps.

Ride safe..!

lol, when i was hunting for sp,i ask HLC at autobay, dan they recomman me e rs 09 model.

danm nice, even let me try it out

machine price 12.5k,c how much u wan downpay dan u decide how long u wann pay if by install, interest 1yr = 5%

was thinking "okay wad..1 mth 200+ nia"

but dan another thing came to me,wad if parts spoil or accident, change new fairing ?

u GG

so i rather get SP,KR fully paid,n not to worry if anything goes wrong wif it(nid sum backup cash of coz, hehe)

if cant afford, dun think abt it

my frends aso advice me,head not big,y wear such a big hat.

Get a RS125 only if you can afford it. Remember that just because you can follow up on the monthly installments, doesn't really mean you can afford it. It makes me kinda' sad to see a RS125 running on the streets with an owner that is ignorant or simply doesn't care about treating it correctly.

To add on to what has already been mentioned, you have to consider petrol too. The RS can drink up petrol like a class 2 bike too. If you ride like a maniac the RS will probably return 14KM/L. If you keep the revs low and don't travel at high speed you probably can get 26km/L out of it. On top of that, it requires 2T, which is somewhere between $22 and $28 per litre. Doesn't require much 2T (2 full tanks and a little more per litre of it) but it still has to be counted into your expenses.

As for parts, well they aren't cheap. They can easily cost a few times what the same part for a KR or SP would cost you.

Eg. Top end overhaul

SP - $250~$300

KR - $250~$350

RS - $700~$1.1K

And the RS requires more care than the SP or KR. Its engine requires rebuilds more frequently than the other 2 and piston rings have to be changed often.

Not trying to talk you out of getting one, but to not get enslaved to the bike. The RS is easily the greatest bike in its class with only the Mito for it to be compared to.

Okay, now thanks for mentoning the repair part.

A friend of mine said they Stop the production of new SP in singapore,so what i can get now is only a second hand.Is it true?

And so for beginners and price wise,it's better to get and SP or a KR?

Seems like everyone is so into it.:)

kr is simply too light and wobbly. hope this helps.

Please clarify somemore. I am interested to hear about your experience with kr.

i used to ride a RS125, i think i am considered lucky as the only problem i have is. rain water going into the engine. Repair quite a few times.

But compared to other 2B u will have much more confident cornering.

I did not regret getting my RS125 over KR or SP.

Go for it but take note of the depreciation. I think i bought at 7k and sold for 3k within 2 years.

well life are made of memory... wats important are having a sweet memory, not y we cannt b tgt

so treasure all the happy times u had........
