Switch from street to scooter

Hi all,anyone had any experience on riding big scooters? I've been riding street bikes from more than 1.5l to a small cub,and is currently riding a 200cc phantom.I would like to know any tactics for riding a big scooter? I've never ride a scooter before and would like to get a TMax or maybe any bikes someone can recommend(no sports nor scramblers).My back cannot dahan lah.....:pity:Thanks

handling modern big scoots are not too much different from a conventional bike, just have to remember you shouldn't "kup" corners at will like when on street bikes as the dynamics/geometry of road bikes & scoots are slightly different (e.g. head angle, offset, rake, weight distribution, smaller wheels/tires, longer wheelbase, etc)

 

like u, i needed something that's back-friendly (siting posture) and comfortable on the move (windshield, stable, silent engine, low vibrations, etc.). the honda silver wing 400 fitted the bill nicely and i've never regretted switching over.

 

do check out the SW thread... our kakis comprised of both SW and non-SW riders and we gather every thursday for dinner/kopi/tcss

i had been riding on street bikes (CB400, fazer6, fz1) since yr 2000 n had just changed to a tmax last mth, missed the changing of the gears..haha....no regrets, only issue is gf keep complaining have to open her legs wide when sitting on my tmax

my 1st bike was a skipper way back in 1998

the main difference should be the diameter of rims. smaller wheels make a bumpy ride even bumpier.
