  1. 1. What do you and ur pillion do when it rains heavily?

    • You wear the rain gear, your pillion can get wet
    • Your pillion wears the rain gear, you get wet
    • Wait for the rain to stop
    • Take public transport home

Stop at the nearest possible shelter.Let the rain shower the road for at least 10mins. Put on my raincoat if any. Be ready to ride in the rain. Keep to the slow moving lane on most times. Maintain a safe distance with the vehicle in front. Pre plan route and more alertness on riding actions. Keep safe speed. Seek shelter again if confidence runs low.

very helpful advise. braking distance is greatly compromised in rainy condition. must space out from other vehicles. certainly dun want to crash in the rain. dun think the car behind is able to stop before hitting our bike.

my bike is a 1 seater only, so not bother with raingear for pillion:-)

Good for you bro! But there's times in your life you need some companion!

Don't do it to others what you don't want others to do to you! God bless!

Steady lah Joe! Yes, just in case you need to pick someone up and heading somewhere special! You can't be telling that someone that you'll meet him/her at the special place and you ride there your own right?

Race the rain to the nearest expresssway with tunnels amid wind gusts and flying leaves everywhere.

With some practise you can have some really good estimations on when it will rain and what direction to escape in :3

That's how a CBR1000 lost to a lowly Phantom. He got stuck in the rain while we (was with pillion) escaped into KPE just in time!

theoretically by law u arent allowed to stop inside tunnels at all times unless breakdowns. there are designated bike shelters in case of rain at bridges of flyover. but so far i never stopped at one before, never did and never will, if its the gods will it rained when i ride, then so be it, i accept with open arms. but if it rained b4 i ride, i'll ned to gauge whether to take Public transport anot.

i usually wear my raining gears under those bridges or bus stops or stop by the side and than go on, but there was once whereby the visibility was really too bad i had to stop under one of the bridges to stay safe and wait till i could see better

Lol since when is Spandex a part of biker fashion? Well you could wear a diving suit but you'd look like...

something from your favourite DC comics :D

I used to have a RM100 leather jacket from JB some years back and that was awesome in the rain. No water ever got through; pity I don't have matching leather pants and boots for the.... DC comics look. Lol.

Ps: The 100 ringgit jacket lasted almost 3 years rain & shine with no maintenence, it just cracked up eventually because it's quite thin. Not bad for a China product!

I think riding the phantom during rainy days are dangerous. Maybe it's because i'm a newbie. But i have, a few times, sliding experience.. when i brake too hard.. the whole bike feels like ice-skating. Turning also must be slow.

Is it just the phantom or other bikes also will have similar response?

Posted

any bike in the rain is almost equally dangerous

wet roads, reduced visibility for both yourself and drivers is not a good combination

Most people go through life following the crowd.

Others think for themselves.

They go their own way.
