STP carlube is like viscosity enhancer and some say it is a friction modifier. I used it for my super 4 twice.

Mixed 1 can with carlube (the 5L bottle car engine oil from Giant). The carlube oil is originally 0W-40 if i recall correctly. So when you add it, it becomes thicker.

Here's the tricky part: Getting the 'correct' mixture. We don't want the oil to become too thick and screw up the engine. Also need to get the oil and oil treatment mixed evenly before pouring into the crankcase. I poured 1 can of the STP treatment into the 5L bottle, shaked and stirred it before pouring it into my s4.

1st time I used, the engine seemed smoother an quieter. After about 5000km, time for another oil change. So I poured in the remainder (2L with treatment) plus another 1L of carlube oil without the treatment. I shall just say that for this 2nd oil change, the engine did not seem to take the oil well. I was worried that the oil was too thick (maybe due to not mixing the oil and treatment evenly enough previously, so the remaining 2L was thicker). So, after using it about 500km, I drained the oil and replaced with my regular motorcycle castrol semi-syn.

Some months after that, I emailed STP (US) about the suitability of the oil treatment for motorcycle engines. Besides my experience using the treatment, I was also concerned of its effects on the motorcycle wet clutch. I've lost the email, but I can remember the reply stating that STP oil treatment has never been tested on motorcycle engines. By extension, I assume this means that they do not assure consumers of any potential side effects of the treatment on our bikes.

So its really up to you whether or not to use the STP oil treatment. To me, its not really expensive, seemed good on the first try, but I still worry about the long term-effects on the bike.
