After fixing her up, I got her dyno'd but wasn't convinced by the result so got it dyno'd again elsewhere and found that my bike was running dangerously lean in top gear roll ons between 60 - 80mph. Bike blew the piston within 1500miles of having the y-piece and revolution fitted.

As I've said before, some bikes seem to be ok but mine certainly wasn't. Just because your mate says his is alright, doesn't mean it is and certainly has no relation to your bike! Get it Dyno'd, should only be about £30 and may save you hundreds. It cost me over £200 to fix my bike with second hand parts.......money that could have spent on a chip or Techlusion.

I thought the engine management should be more adaptive? Unless of course his was having a problem. Other thread also indicated similar when they made the switched to K&N. It seems that the fuel mapping might not be set up to cater to a freer breathing engine. Looks like a job for Power Commander man http://www.ukgser.com/forums/images/smilies/250503/yikes.gif

Thats right :thumb: He also arranged for rides up North and will invite close customers to go along. http://www.advrider.com/forums/images/smilies/DukeGirl.gif

The BT020 are excellent road tires, excellent choice :thumb:

hiaz......another bad news eh :giddy:

Basically I had been reading a lot of problems abt our bike from the Advrider n UKgser sites. But of course there r oso some who r very pleased with their bike. After a while I decided not to read it cos it jus gets u more paranoia.

Anyway, this is one of the risk we got to take for buying a brand new model. so jus enjoy while its still in good shape:smile:

Last Sat met one of the GS12 owners. He brought the bike all the way to North Thai n back with no probs. In fact he was so impressed tat he said that this was the 'PERFECT' bike o_O

So how ? Still game on changing your pipes ?

As I see it, the general opinion of the 1200 is that its a great bike as long as you don't try to meddle with it, specifically with stuffs that might affect its performance. So what Brian say is probably true, add ons are ok, replacements are questionable. This bike and its technology, like the CAN Bus is still quite new and so there's still quite a bit to learn and understand before things are sorted out. We also see that much of the problems are with bikes from the earlier batches, so my long wait might have been a blessing too.

Do I still wanna change the pipes? Probably yes, but will hold on till the original served out its life. By then, hope there will be more convincing items out there for us to sort thru. http://www.advrider.com/forums/images/smilies/99smoke.gif

As a Beemer newbie, whenever I tell ppl that, I always seems to get a similar advice: Don't meddle with your bike too much, especially the electronics. Gibson from New Tech said that to me. The guy at JR said the same thing to me. In fact, the person to say something like this to me is Bertha's prev owner himself. Maybe it's the characteristics of BMWs, it does not require anymore drastic modifications.

Looking at it from another point of view: Our bikes are already GOOD enough. woohoo. hahahaha

Hey SDR, use this website to see which tires suit your Mystic.

Bridgestone Battlax BT020

Then give New Tech a call and ask lah :goodluck:

Thats right PL. Its a desease, get something new, wanna change this change that. When it becomes a classic, search high and low for original parts to get back to stock, then siok........ kekekeke, we are all psycho http://www.advrider.com/forums/images/smilies/pillepalle.gif

Any good reviews on the bike?

cheers!!

Sorry man, none of us regulars here own one. Mostly GSes in here, few RTs, and a classic Mystic (and an 'S' gng-to-be, hehehe)

I doubt anybody has ridden one b4, otherwise somebody would've mentioned it already.

I asked him does his shop carry compatible battery like mine, he picked up 1, opens it and show it to me, size is a little shorter but L X B are exactly the same, all readings are the same except mine is 25Ah and his 24Ah, guys, what is Ah? any idea?

Should not be a problem.

Read out here, a question that I had posted on batteries sometime ago.

Best review is to try it out yourself. PML has one for trial, take it for a ride, (make it a long one, say you don't know the area well and got lost........kekekeke  ). Call Steven for an appointment. They are asking for 29.5K, I think only one left, unless you don't mind settling for the trial bike, can ask for good price. :thumb:
