hi fellow riders.

Actually i ride a kr. I am still kind of new to the bike.

I have few questions abt the bike hope fellow forummers will help out.

I am planning to change my rear tyre. I am using battlax bt39-f 110/70 tyre for the rear.

I have experienced a few skid (fish-tail) so plan to change the tyre.

So i was wondering what the biggest rear tyre a kr can fit??? i prefer bridgestone battlax tires. I want tires that have gt alot of grip on the road (i sometimes play conering) it would be helpfull if u can provide me abt the price of the tyres too. :p

My speedometer does nt have lights.(very very dim light actually its from the rmps meter light). so plan to put light on the speedometer ?? where can i do it ??? roughly how much does it cost ???

I also want to make the handle bar lower. Does it affect the performance ??? or riding ??

will my fork get damaged ???

haha sry for too many questions hope fellow riders will help.

:D

I am not a racer. I am a rider.

KR can fit 120 rear, but I don't recommend putting it. 110 rear is more then enough to corner until you scrap your footrest. Stick to BT39. Lights in speedometer anywhere can do. Downforks is ok, just don't down too much.

Hmm your tires skid mostly because you applied too much breaking force on your rear breaks compared to your front break. Driving centres taught us to apply both gradually.

If you're looking for tires, Team HKL are having christmas promotions. Take a look here: http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/308607-Christmas-2010-Promotions-%2801-12-2010-to-31-12-2010%29Exhaust-Tyre-Helmet-Etc.......?p=6832038&viewfull=1#post6832038

If you're talking about just changing the normal bulbs in the speedometer, the bulbs itself won't cause you more than $2 each. There's a total of about 3-5 bulbs if I'm not mistaken. Only depends on the workmanship charge for different shops(because quite tough to take off the head fairings first).

You just go to your bike shop and tell them too down your fork. It will cost you about less than $10. Thing is, don't make it too low, cause that will affect your fork oil seal and cause it to be broken(each time u go hump,go up/go down kerbs etc). Changing of both fork oil seal plus the fork oil everything will cost you about $80(for a genuine piece), local ones cost you about $40+ in Singapore.

bro think you change your rear tyre to 120/70..as for lower handle you can change to tzm handle more lower like sp,or change to those aftermarket type pop or posh handle bar

To 120/70 uh..hmm okay.

MAy be can GO JB do the light etc..

Hahaha.I also plan to go there to do.

y dont recommend 120/70 bro ???

I plan to change to bigger tyre because sometime when i turn i always end up in another lane. Dont know y this happens nt sure if i nt conering/turning properly or my speed to much for that bend ???

I don't recommend 120 tyres because it makes the bike feel too "heavy".

The reason ur going off course when cornering isn't the size of the tyres, its because your cornering technique is wrong. Even if your tyres are class2 size @ 180 rear, you corner wrongly u will still go offcourse

Learn how to find the line of a corner, whereby u peng and gun throttle yet smoothly go around the corner w/o going offcourse. Newbs tend to think the best corners are the ones where u scrap footrest lah, scrap knee etc. No, the best corners are the ones that lean the least yet go fast and smooth..

90/80 front, 110/70 rear is good enuf. Only you have to try out certain tire pressures. I rode KR 5 years ago, played track and still keeping it as sub bike. As for lowering the fork, in my opinion it is not advisable. Mayb it will make it look nicer or more 'devilish'. But it is also dangerous as the geometry of the bike different already. Not stable in high speed. Mine i had it to the highest level possible and add in 10ml more fork oil and still scrap fairing and side stand in Pasir Gudang.

Just my little advise. It is still up to you to decide.

Cheers!

Well. 110/70 battlax bt39 is fine. Corner till u scrap footrest. Bad luck scrap ur body. Haha joking. If you're not convinced , try bt090 110/70. But slightly expensive. About fishtailing, try not to press on ur rear brake to hard. Brake before corner not when cornering. Cornering keep your hands on the trottle and increased speed gradually. Dont overconfident. Slow in fast out. If you happen to skid your rear tire, try look out for your suspension. Too soft or too hard might affect your cornering. Your fork play a part too. Make sure in good condition. Top up fork oil. If you wanna down fork, try drop 3 fingers. It might look better but like they say, its not too goood for the fork. Up to you. :) ride safe. Be back in 1 piece. Thats what your family members hoping for when ure out riding. Corner when you feel you know the road well. But do take note, accident happens. Learn from mistake. Continue riding. And you'll get what i mean...

:) i've been riding kr for 3 years. Well there is still other old timers out there. Its not easy to understand your machine. It takes time and understanding. How much you willing to learn. Till now im still learning and happy to say i can say i know this machine well. Pity i didnt know how to repair my bike. Haha. Still this bike is nice to ride. Ride safe. I've fall close to 10 times. Lucky non is serious. Its e learning process which makes you understand more about the bike. Yes kr can go 180km/h easily . Stock or modd. Matter of how fast you reach them :) . After all once you reach 180km/h, you cant keep it going for long. We dont have 4 piston to keep it going :). Enjoy your ride. Master the track.
