If it does not affect your braking, don't bother about it.

Sounds like you need a new set of stanchions, seals and dust caps. These stuffs are no longer in production and are hard to get.

thanks yoshitei for the info. kinda like wut i tot too. the stanchions are difficult to get. got some kits from uk cost bout 200 pounds which include the sanctions..

tot of getting the whole fork set instead at scrap yard if got.

If you're a techie, you could strip them yourself and send them to TiNi coatings. It'll be cheaper then getting a LBS to do it and you'll get better results. Not sure who does in in Singapore though.

A simpler, quicker and cheaper way is to get the damper assembly off a 600cc bike and stick it in. I've had luck with ZX6 but don't take my word for it, check the diameter of the outer tubes at the crowns before buying.

Remember to check the brake mounts too...

Hi

Some quest to ask here?

1) You guys talk about the wiring on the bike 'frying' up.

How much would it cost to replace the whole wiring of the bike...

and is such a thing possible? $$?

2) Let say if i do buy a bike, and i hv some extra cash to spare

and i am willing to spend it to change these parts of the bikes

to prevent future probs. Read you guys mentioned alot of things like

rectifier giving prob , changing the battery, etc...

How much would you say is needed, estimate, and are the parts available

and is there a reliable shop and mechanic around that can do a GREAT job ?

Does not have to be cheap but around market price lah and

the servicing must be good.

3) With this i'm hoping to plan my budget around it. With an initial change

of some problematic parts...i can then concentrate on a good ride and

then just do the basic necessary servicing to keep the bike working well

and maintained properly.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers :thumb:

errrr..not very encouraging that the last post here was in 2010.

:/

anyway, i share the exact same sentiments as you.

getting my gsxr tmr.

the next one year is gonna be a hell of a ride, im guessing.

only after the last tree has been cut down, only after the last river has been poisoned, only after the last fish has been caught, only then will you realize that money cannot be eaten.

I just recently got my gixxer resprayed. Brake pads changed. Coolant changed. Battery changed, signal lights changed and bike externally cleaned. I can't remember if I got the carburetors washed. Anyway, now my pocket rocket suddenly sounds different almost like a lower exhaust note. Like a zzzzzz hum to vrrrrr (roll your tongue to make that noise) hum and the pick up now sucks. At first gear it can only hit 30+ at almost 8k rpm and powerless at slope as compared to hitting up to 60 km/hr at about 8k rpm in norm:(al first gear. Any one can gimme a clue as to what is wrong? I wanna go back to the Mech and make noise but i don't know what to say. Help me! I want my rocket back. Previous owner made it awesome. I think I wrecked it. Please advice anything at all.

Whatever you've done shouldn't have made the sound change at all . Maybe if u tuned your carb sound will change a tiny little and it should be smoother rather then more powerless . Hmm maybe check your idling speed for the sound ? And your brake pads ( lift ur bike using pipe and handle bar to one side and spin your wheels ) . It be bad if ur brake pads would constanstly press on disc brakes causing loss of power .

Sorry don know mch jus got my g4 like 2~3weeks ago too . How's your rpm . Does it rocket when u drag ? Or go up slowly like 2b bike

You washed your bike with a pressure jet?

If so, start with checking your plugs.

How about the clutch? if you say, up to 60 km/hr about 8k rpm, and your gsxr is 30+ at almost 8k, i think maybe the clutch is slip, because, engine rpm is up, but the clutch can't transform the power to tire. check the brake system too.

if your mech ever touched your carbs, it may be your bike is running rich due to mixture setting or your o-rings leaking or faulty coils or your plugs are just wet, after dry, it'll be ok but your plug caps maybe damaged, thats why water went into plugs..

bro yoshitel, my o-rings & carbtune has arrived from UK!! i'm gonna try rebuild my carbs this week to solve my leaky o-rings...

it may be 1 of the plugs not working, or not all 4 cylinders running. i've tried before. never past 8k rpm with less than 100kph @ gear5.
