its jus x ring... x ring is known to be noisy. used it on my RVF last time and the sound was crazy.. majiam gonna drop out... but its jus simply because its X ring. :giddy:

thats why i go for O ring now because its not so noisy no doubt Xring is of better quality.

Your chain i think is probarly uneven tight, check the guide is it balance both?(the strip marking at the lock nut) After that make your bike rear wheel lift, turn your rear wheel free, hear the sound n use your hand tough the chain tensional it is ok ?(stop time) turn again hear n do check again the tension of chain is same as just u feel ? like that do a check chain oen cycle if u feel unbalance (some time tight some time loose) that mean u need to readjust again. hope can help u. BTW how much th xring n original spokect cost ? what is th diff of xring n o-ring ? i use o ring now, n plan to chane soon.

hi saico. Even with a new chain and spocket, you will still hear sound coming form the chain. However, the sound should be smooth and subtle.

If what you are hearing it very load and awful, then it could be other factors.

The chain should be tighten to give just the right slack, too tight or too loose and it will cause very bad sounds.

It you ride for just a week and the chain becomes loose, then it could be that the thread inside your swing arm that is worn out. Its the area where your mechanic tightens to tighten your chain. Once, worn out, your chain will become loose very fast. I had that problem, and i had to change the whole swing arm which cost 600 bucks. Luckily, the bike was still under warranty and i got it replaced free. Get another mechanic other than your usual to have that checked out.

If chain and spocket is new and the slack is right and there is still very bad sounds, then it can only mean one thing - damaged wheel bearings. For this, its easy to find out. Just jack your bike up and spin the front and back wheel. If the wheel does not spin smoothly and makes squeky sounds or stops spinning prematurely, its your wheel bearings. Damaged wheel bearings are often accompanied by rust at your wheel axle, loud sounds and negative vibrations while riding.

Hope this helps man!

HI hi ace_rvf, DID X-ring is better technology then o-ring. Gives greater millage and better performance. but of cos x-ring is more expensive.

You should always change chain and spocket together. Reason is being that if chain is worn out, it will damage new spockets and if spocket is worn out, it will damage new chain.

You can get original honda spockets and DID x-ring at retail price of 250 at motorworld.

However, u can get the same at Ah boy for 180, but you gotta wait lor. haha

Actually prices of chain and spockets differ at every bike shop. Reason why some shops offer very cheap is becos they use non original spockets. They usually give dun fake the chains, just the spockets. Of cos its best to use original spockets as if the front spocket if not orginal, it may have poor fitting and wear out your clutch plates.

Anyway, if your guys wanan change chain and spocket, your can approach me as i am very gum with Ah boy, can fetch your very good price. pm me with you contact number. i dun mind helping as i am going down very soon too. : )

Yups...thats roughly wat i do when i have the time...the sound is so much pleasant..

but just to share with all of you my experience..

I have spacers fixed under my back suspension...this contributes to weird or loud noises from the chain if its too loose or too tight...becos of the tensopn i guess. So everytime i get this sound, my mech will adjust my chain with me sitting on my bike.

After adjusting, I'd clean my chain with kerosene, after that wash with water and wipe till dry and clean...then spray with maxima chain lube...feels good riding after that.

BTW, during this rainy season....please wipe and lube ur chain more frequently...

bro b carefull wif da kerosene it cld eat up ur tayer

:giddy: once a rider is always a rider..
