eh then if do after the course, enough time meh??? how long is the course? halfday, by lunch time finish or wat? scared not enough time u know.. i only have one hairdryer to help speed up the drying process.. wait u all really have to sit down n play ban-lak while waiting for the stuff to dry...

hmm... nicely pimped up...

firstly, after the tune-up (jet, injector, blah blah blah) and with the diffuser installed, there isn't a need to drag the engine anymore. u end up saving petrol and not unnecessarily revving and 'perah-ing'. i don't need to rev up to 7k rpm like how i used to anymore. My bike now moves off comfortably from 3-4k rpm.

 

secondly, i used to have to use either Shell V-power or Caltex Platinum to feel like i'm travellin fast. these days, at GP i dont use V-power anymore. Using the other one, i think its 95, and my bike rides as smooth as silk.its more economical, cos a full tank of 15+ litres doesn't cost more than 30 ringgit anymore (V-power costs more than RM$30 sometimes) Even with that lower octane petrol, i am still able to hit 120 km/h anytime.

 

 

on the downside, the diffuser isn't legal. Touch wood, i have not been stopped by ROV. the last time i WAS stopped by a TP, it was to get a good lecturing about recklessly squeezing thru traffic on the KJE during morning rush hour traffic. The TP asked if i had modified my exhaust, i confidently replied 'no', and he didnt ask anything else... probably cos he doesn't know much about Vara125s. I even took out my last inspection cert, but he didn't bother looking. He just took down my particulars, and advised me to wake up earlier to go to work, instead of rushing thru morning traffic.

 

i was considering that boost bottle thingy that Tai Hin sells, but scrapped the idea cos a few of my friends who tried it, say its really just the placebo effect. (like if a doctor tells u this pill will make u very strong, u will take it... so when a mechanic tell u this boost bottle will make yr bike go fast, u will install it... same line la.. ) so why waste money on a placebo rite?

 

if u not prepared to take the risk with the XR4 diffuser, just go for a good tune up. I seriously doubt that it would cost u more than a 100 bucks. After that, go for the Arrow pipe if your budget allows it. My budget didn't allow it, thats why i went to my scram mechanic for this 'undercover brudder' project. Its been worth it... so far. (touch wood again!)

 

oh yeah, did i forget to mention that it sounds so much better when i rev? Before, it used to sound like many rapidly deflating balloons. But now... it really does feel like i'm riding a class 2A machine.

so yeah, i feel like i'm riding an Aflika Twing these days. And me n my Aflika Twing are going to Krabi.

i preferred full face den flip up... cos i think that if suay suay kena accident, flip up helmet wouldn't be able to protect mi as the clip that click on might spoilt and flip the helmet up... hmm, whether it will happen anot i dunno... juz wat i think

i paid a total of $350 for the exhaust mod + O ring chain + tuning.

 

i really don't know what the breakdown is like, cos i like to get stuff done in 'package deals'. It kinda makes me feel better about spending the money, cos i get a few things done at one time.

a rough estimate is dat the exhaust mod was around 150 - 200... if u know wat a DID O ring chain costs, then u'll have an approximate figure of the tune up.

i kinda liked the DOMO Caschi full face. looks very similiar to the Shoei Hornet i think. They sell it at regina. Should hav called me, i went that area today looking for a helmet for everyday use. or u can look around for my imitation OW... the Zeus OW! My favourite helmet!

brudder, brudder... i think u've been misled by the term 'hi-temp' spray. A hi-temp spray paint means that the PAINT is hi-temp resistant... it will not make yr plastic mudguard heat resistant as well. thats why its used on exhaust pipes.

but its worth a try, don't mind doing it for u if u want it. U'll just have to sign an indemnity form, that exempts me from liability for a melted mudguard in future.

lol.. jus kidding.. i doubt it'll melt.. so ok we'll spray it

New Year 2008 _ Mini Charity Ride

 

 

1. Objectives

 

A trial community service project by Vara-Outriders and associates. Subsequent re runs will depend on this first attempt.

 

To show we not only have passion for riding, but also compassion towards the less fortunate out there.

 

Also taking this event as a reunion ride among fellow pioneers and a familiarization ‘tour’ for the new.

 

 

 

2. Date

 

Saturday, 12th January 2008

 

 

 

3. Place

 

SREE NARAYANA MISSION HOME FOR THE AGED SICK

 

Located in Yishun. Houses (about 220 residents in all) the destitute, old and sick from the various ethnic race.

 

 

 

 

4. Itinerary

 

 

1000hrs : Meet up at a designated point ( Yishun Stadium car park). After flag off, a short ride in convoy to destination (about 5km away).

 

1030hrs : After the reception, if there’s any, we shall interact cum distribute food items in packages to the resident.

 

1130hrs : End of event, after farewell bid.

 

 

 

 

5. Fund

 

A small token may be required beforehand to purchase food items.Any surplus will be donated to the home. Details of it to be confirmed on a later date.

 

Those couldn’t make it but would want to pledge a contribution, you’re most welcome too.

 

 

 

 

 

6. Participants

 

 

Our convoy will be capped at 30 motorbikes to make it manageable.

 

Event shall proceed if there are a minimum of 10 motorbikes with confirmed response. Participation closing date 4th January 2008

 

 

 

 

7. Volunteers

 

Help wanted. Appreciate some help to fill these post;

Encouraging those wishing to gain experience to come forward. We’ll hook up a buddy system.

bro, i bought my full face at chiap lee. i was in a situation like u when i couldnt afford a shoei or arai. i went to chiap lee and saw this full face helmet and fell in love with it. cost me $150. actual price is $180. but its those scrambler type of full face where there's no visor. take a look at chiap lee.
