6k sounds about normal. Hold the clutch fully until you reach 6k, then start releasing slowly. Best thing is to come to a meetup and compare with other varas, we are happy to test for you. :)

Here is my evaluation of my bike so far.....

From 0-55km/hr it's jerky and it feels like bike is choking and it pulls back and feels like the air filter or carb is not delivering enough air. Maybe carb dirty.

From 70km/hr onwards, the incidence of jerks is reduced but can still feel like something is dirty inside.

Will take it to a mech tomorrow and do a full service, carb wash and air filter change.

Can fellow Vara riders share what kind of engine oil used on their bike and any remarks bout the Eo in general?

Im used SPC gold, Motul 300V and Belray.

Spc is crap, Motul is not really needed for our bike. The best for me is Belray....but i havent try other oils...

Care to share opinions fellow bros???

Finrod! ive tried motul and now using maxima. But Belray is by far the best for vara i suppose! No problems changing gear. Very very smooth!

you can go to the k&t bike shop to service. they always have stock for the air filter. price i cant remember. cause i did few other things.

Didn't have time today so went to the bikeshop near my place. Changed EO, plugs and oil filter.

Bike is notably smoother. The jerks at low end is lessen. Next will go for carb clean and air filter. Once that is sorted I think the jerks will be gone.

Checked with my mech to respray the bike to one color and he quoted $280. Takes 7-10 days.

this all depends on the organiser. hahaha i just follow. =)

Also im using afam sprockets and its much much lighter than stock. definitely can feel the difference in the pick up and cruising speed.

i just did my carb tunning at sanfu motor, now the power is back....

running on 14/44 spockets

regards calvin

Hey Calvin,

How much did Sanfu charge you for carb tuning?

My bike's timing is back to normal. No more jerks and pick up is smoother than ever. So happened that the bike shop that last serviced the bike before it was sold to me, did a bad job putting it together. Parts are new but they totally screwed up the timing.

I need to do fork seal replacements next and carb balancing. Any recommendations?

Back from Hatyai with Brandnew (Fadzly)....

Its really a great experience for both of us on our virgin trip to the Land of Smiles on our vara125s. Of coz like wad Fadzly said, the pic wont do much justice for the amount of fun and excitement we had!!!!

set off from JB Shell at 4am on 23sep with Erwan(my colleague & wife Nora)on CB1300, his bro-in-law Khalek and wife Rashidah(Nora's sis) on FZ6, Suyian on GSXR K9 and Husaini on DRZ400SM. Reach Telok Gading @Endau Rompin @abt 6am++....pump and set off in half an hour.Next Stop @Cherating for breakfast and some photoshoot and cam-whoring at the beach near cherating...Heading to Kuala Terengganu we stop for rest and some shopping. Then Finally reach CrownGarden Hotel in Kota Bharu, Kelantan after getting lost for a while. the longest both of us ever rode in one day....Total mileage from JB Shell: 704Km
