Kulai Nasi Lemak was opened last night when I made an impromptu supper ride.

But the strangest part was that it was almost deserted. The same goes for the roads leading up north, at checkpoints, at the Esso and Shell stations at GP.

Weather was superb, dry but very very cooling.

Ride back via B roads was good as well. Saw a gang of kupkias in the plantation road outside Kulai massing, presumably getting ready for their own MotoGP on those dark roads.

All in all, factor in about 100-110km of petrol from Esso GP to Kulai (1 hr) and back to Shell GP (1 hr) for this ride.

Did 200km last night - managing another approx 100km from Tuas to Changi Point and to Redhill. Singapore roads were equally deserted. Also not sure why. Halloween, maybe.

ek chain plus afam sprockets - 200 to 300 bucks.

andrei did you change your number? tried contacting for few topups session. no reply from you

Nah, didn't change and didn't get any messages from you, I went to top up on my own on Sunday, I thought that with Fatt unavailable nothing much was happening.

Anything happening over this 3-day week-end? Always itchy for a ride! Let me know, number is 8318 7711.

Might go for the chain and sprocket change tomorrow, but I don't think bikewerkz carries AFAM.

Bought a couple of toys from the MO forum, an easystand to make maintenance a little easier since I don't have a center stand, and a mounting kit for an iphone for the handlebars - to use as GPS. Since both sellers were around Woodlands AND NOBODY SEEMS TO ORGANIZE TOP-UPS ANYMORE, I went to top-up on my own over the causeway. Managed 375km out of the previous tank - before reserve, and was at 392km when I refueled - not bad.

Also managed to break my Varadero speed record - on the BKE, there are some good long downhill stretches that were pretty empty late last night.

Haven't managed to get my chain / sprockets changed, rear sprocket looks somewhat worn, but I should be going to bikewerkz soon.

I was riding with a friend on Saturday - on an old SP 150, it reminded me how bad the braking performance is on my Vara - I'm not sure this is my bike or just Vara 125's in general, but I always thought that the braking distance was a lot longer than the YBR 125s at the school. Thinking of maybe replacing front brake disk / pads / fluid etc, but I'm not sure it will improve things - and then again, only 6 months until I can sign up for 2A. :)

Just to share on the topic of changing sprockets.

I changed to AFAM sprockets (specifically for Derbi Terra) plus chain just today. Had told them that I want a more torquey response rather than higher top speed (correct me if I am wrong, changing sprockets can change either pick up or top speed?). The effect was felt instaneously. Stock sprockets and chain have been used for past 2 yrs and looked tired (chain sagging in spite of tightening).

Info, pls.

Smaller rear more top speed

Bigger rear more pickup.

For me I tried it on my vara and I felt the stock combi is the best for me.

So I had read/heard correctly.

Also understand that stock setup is normally the best combi, but to each his own.

I have always preferred a better pickup for our city riding. Going on the NSHW, and being a 125, cant really help top speed that much anyway.

Cheers.
