according to my knowledge, the page is pretty much very quiet, you might want consider giving up on joining the page, there was some discussion somewhere in this thread that it is very difficult to be accepted into the group nowadays and you have to be active in any meetups they organize or you will be kicked out of the group.

My posts are based on peaceful discussion, honest questions happy jokes. If for any personal reason u find my post not suiting your ego, scrolling and clicking is always faster than typing. Not hearing my retorts to your rude remarks only means I have confirmed that your upbringing is that of barbarians.

Hi guys, just wanna ask if anyone of you hear has topboxes and managed to find a cover that cater for bikes with top boxes, I bought mine from uniquemotor and seems like the cover is catered for bikes without top boxes and it has my bike's chain and rear wheel exposed to rain and shine. Please do let me know the brand of the cover if you guys do have one for bikes with top boxes and where you guys bought it, preferably around west area as I stay at bukit batok, thanks.

Probably not helping but got mine from Regina. 38 for the "better" one which I'm happy with it after using it for about 2 months now.

Oh, thanks for the reply, sorry but pardon me for the questions...brand for this cover which you bought? How much for one of the better one that? I assume the one you bought caters for bike with top boxes and I heard that people will even steal the covers that are good.

I vaguely remember the brand as okado. I've got bad memory but if I'm not wrong, it's 38 or 48 Oops. Anyway yes, I've got top and side boxes. Thought it's doing the job well with elastic band at the bottom to hold the cover down.

Your FC is very good, the max I ever had is 37Km/L, my normal will normally hover around 31-35Km/L. I only weigh 66KG. Idle speed can be adjusted at left side just below the tank, you will see a screw to turn, clockwise = increase idle speed. Normal idle speed would be around 1.5k to 2k for some. Bear in mind this bike has a very weird habit of having very low idle speed when you just start it up and it dies off very easily especially in cold weather like over at my side where it is raining. The idle speed will increase after the engine has warm up, the mechanics at the workshop told it is due the jetting inside, he says it is made in china and as result requires longer warm up, the alternative solution is to change the jetting size to the bigger one, lesser warm up time, slightly increased power and higher fuel consumption.

The main difference I can think of is the fairing, ST is half fairing and looks nicer than the normal FZ16, minor differences is that the normal FZ16 has 3 generations while ST has only 1 generation, I would guess that they did not do a very good job in the first and second generation before finally reaching third generation and that they most probably learned their lesson and brought over the improved versions and made the ST version, I maybe wrong though. Recommended shops wise, I am sorry to say I do not have much to introduce as I only shopped around Bukit Merah where there is quite some shop over there, maybe there will be more recommendations from the seniors or maybe other threads that does price comparison.

.

thanks for the detailed explanation.

Like you, comparing the price of used bike for fz16, I decided to get a brand new one. Got it from unique for its 36 months interest free instalment with UOB credit card. Might be slightly more Ex but the total cost is still lower compared to high interest rates else where. Enjoy your bike shopping!

yup, was looking at unique too. their interest free credit card repayment is very tempting.

used bikes even those on the bike mart are pretty steep and with the addition of another 1 to 2 grand, I can easily get a brand new FZ 16.

Hey TsuchimiRin, you know where to do carb jetting in Singapore? Changed the filter to K&N thought might be a good idea to increase the jet size.

Hmm, if I am not wrong, a lot of bike shop can do that, it is just a matter of changing the jet inside, a very small needle like metal, the shop I went whom the mechanic told me about it is in Ubi, K & T accessory trading, but take note I am not referring to the whole jetting system where ppl install the yoshimura pipe. I am not sure the proper term to refer to the jetting needle but the mechanic took it out to show me, it will wear off after a certain mileage and needs to be changed.
