Ignition keypad blocked (Africa twin) RD07A

Hi guys... this morning i slided my key into the padlock (it was just in "off" position), then try to turn on: impossible

My key cannot move from the "off" position, I can just move it up and down, neither left nor right!!!

 

Anyone experience the same problem? tonight I will try to put some oil in first.

 

I know it is possible to change the switch, it is complex? I mean special tool etc... or can I do it by myself. I don't want to tow it to a shop...

maybe someone slammed into ur handlebar n the lock got jammed, try shifting ur handlebar a bit.

 

as for changing the lock, it's easy for a mechanic, difficult for layman, and it depends on what type of lock. basically need to strip the front of the bike, tools needed r ur basic wrench n such. however if it's electronic lock, need to reprogram.

is your handlebar in locked position? happened to me once, then i realised it was in handlebar lock with me knowing it.
