Different lifestyle perhaps.

I normally go down afterwork or on a lazy afternoon, when the girl is busy and i have nothing better to do. Go down, chill and as well as do a little tinkering of my own and sometimes, just to help out a little. Guess he's become more of a friend.

The other shop that i heard of this kind of relationship between mechanic and customers, will have to be Gopa. The ST11 ppl would be able to vouch for this.

I guess sometimes, the "personal touch", do overide the time factor. For me that is. Altho like all friends, there would sure be periods of exasperations.

i agree with you, but for me, time and workmanship are equally important to me, good workmanship but slow, i will not go there.

have you tried Planet Motor at Ubi before? make an appointment with ah chong the boss, go down, he will quickly do up your bike and his price is very reasonable too. never had any problem with planet after their repair and servicing...

they done my top overhaul in a week, quick and good.

rosli can do a good job, but takes longer time, that's a big problem, not everyone got time to wait at his place just to get some minor things done....

money can earn back, time can't, so i dont like to wait. rosli is not the place for me.

sure dude. everyone is entitiled to their own opinions.

When i leave my bike at Rosli's, I know that only he, himself, would be the one doing the engine and/or other major things. Because there's no other person! :cheeky:

Simple things, sometimes his helper or myself.

Have had bad experiences with bike shops before, and yes, I have been to planet motors.

I think my relationship with Rosli would be something like this guy's with Planet Motors.

Stumbled upon this thread... my goodness... never thought that i'll ever see a thread dedicated to Planet Motors

It was quite farni as i read through the discussion... Patrick = Ah Beng? haha.. that i never knew.. will go suan him some time.

It's been 4-5 years since i started going to Planet Motors.. back then they werent even known as planet motors... instead their shop was called Ban Seng Tyre Shop... or something like that... but now.. look at them... they even have new uniforms!!! and Ah Chong now drives a new S-Class Mercedes... haha

One thing about going them is the assurance that they would do a good job with my bike and i won't be overcharged... Being a loyal regular, i dun get special privileges though... so many a time i can be first to reach the shop and have to help them close shop... i.e. i was there from 930 to 730!!! But somehow, i never complained... can never be entertained enough by Ah Chong and his funny antics...

Been to other bike shops a couple of times... must say that the bond is just not there..... Ah CHong will make me want to go back to him... even if sometimes, there may be some other cheaper places to service bike...

Ok.. enough of my stories... I will highly recommend his shop even though doing so will mean more business and i will then have to wait longer... Good to know that there are so many of us who have enjoyed going there... Say Hi to me the next time you see me there... i ride a black Kawa FN 3110 B

A philosophy in life which I adhere to. 'Make love, not war'. Though I don't intend to literally follow this philosophy when it comes to you guys.

Hi All,

This cld be an old topic but I happen to just read abt it. My forum call name is ValkaholiC & ride the Valkyrie (obviously) . Hv been riding for 24 yrs & hv been hopping bike shop all those while, mostly in the west; until I met this mechanic approx 15yrs ago at Alexandra Village, attached on profit sharing venture with X___X (censored) Motorcycle shop to their motor repiring dept . I own Custom NV750 then & later Vulcan500. Nobody else touches my bike since.

Lost touch with him for abt couple of yrs when their venture burst abruptly (handphone was a luxury piece of art then).

Was lucky to met him again by sheer coincident when I purchase my Valkyrie at a shop in Eunos area 8 yrs ago, where his then humble ½ spaced workshop is within the vicinity. Upon utilizing my run-in period FREE oil changed at the motor shop, I hv let him doctoring my Valkyrie ever since. In this ‘www’ era, word gets around that I was among the 1st few to own & a hardcore Valkyrie owner. New Valk owner get in touched wanting to noe more info regarding Valk maintenance & servicing. Thus far 4 Valkyries (out of 5 owners) send theirs there. Among them was the Kruzer's heavyweight guy & as the saying, “the rest is history”.

Has he ever fumbles in his repair works done for me? Thus far only 2 that I can remember & he acknowledge them. Infect, 1 of them was by his worker. Will I stop patronizing his workshop due to it? I DON'T THINK SO, after all his is only human. Does he have a fair share of unhappy customers? I will be lying if saying otherwise. 90% of those I recommended making their returns, while the other 10% hv their own reasons. If you are closed enuf with him, sit & listen to his side of story at his ‘free’ time, you may understands better.

There hv been many BMW owner (GS & LT) send theirs there as well. Spoken to some & was told not to be surprise that he have sufficient Beemer gadget & Beemer noehow to get the works done before sending it to Performance Motor for the final electronic tuning.

Some of his mechanic complained, as a boss he is not ezy to pleased (yeah right. Who on earth is not complaining abt their bosses but themselves).

Presently my setback when sending the bike there; he works alone & the ‘Q’ is getting longer; partly I am to be ‘blamed’ for pulling-in that beer-bellied Kruzer guy :cheeky: .

Yes, I am referring to the mechanic as per the subject of this topic. Nevertheless, to each, his/her own. To new readers, my advise is to give him a try. Throw his a question or two of things u think u are already well verse & hear his reply. If u dont like what u received at your 1st visit, go elsewhere & u got nothing else to lose.

Word of cautions; Don’t be deceiving by his humble workshop with his craftsmanship. :goodluck:
