Of course can do run-in anywhere. Just follow the owner manual, not to rev over certain RPM or speed...

Subaru Impreza 1.6i (SGU) [2006 - ???]

Honda CBR150R (FW) [2009 - 2009]

Honda NSR150SP (FT) [2008 - 2010]

Yamaha T135 (FBE) [2010 - ???]

2 ways to run in your bike, the traditional way, at certain gears not to exceed certain rpm. another way is the hard run in. the word says it all. hard, revving the machine at high rpms. normally hard run in will be done by shops with dyno machines. of cos there are pple who do hard run in themselves.

'wrack' the bike? nobody wants to wrack a bike, old or new. repair costs expensive you know. :)

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

how about the oil? can just change any oil?

From what I learned about engine’s break-in period, your engine might consume a lot of oil, so its always better to keep a check on its level. Another important thing to take note is that try to avoid using a fully synthetic oil, use a semi-synthetic or a mineral oil during the break-in. Reason is that during this time then engine parts are supposed to be polished with each other, so its always better not to use an oil which has high lubricating properties which will result in improper polishing of the engine parts. But still, the methods are always in your bike's manual.
