I've been using my Multitec for about 2.5 years now. Quite happy with it, but then my previous helmet was an MHR open face, so I don't have a lot to compare it to. Bought for $520 from Regina, including a half-tinted spare visor. A word of warning, though: only commit to buying from them if they have ready stock - everything else is promised to show up in "two weeks", but that can easily stretch to 6 months or more :faint:

i'm presently using a Multitec

have had it for 15 months now and for me it's by far the most comfortable i've ever had

i've used Zues open face, GPR open face, MHR 346 flip up - exactly the same as the RJays Tour Tech

by comparison with these few i've used, the internal cushioning is the most comfortable

peripheral vision is not a problem as the visor goes well to the sides

opening the flip is also good even with gloves on as it's only got one front facing main lever at the center of the chin bar

also, it uses metal clips versus plastic latches / clips for the chin bar

top ventilation is great and you can actually feel the air moving through the internal foam when you're moving fast enough

front ventilation is not to fantas though, a pity for this excellent helmet, on rainy days, you may need to crack open your visor for defogging

sound is alright, but as it is a modular helmet, there will be more ridges for wind to create more noise but quieter than the MHR

bought it with my missus 15 months back for my birthday at $650 from Chong Aik

got only the clear visor, no tinted or rainbow visor included

hi antartica,

thats a good review... i guess the fogging up is a perenial issue for flipup helmets.

my nolan has an antifog visor, but after afew months, esp during downpour, it will start to fog up too..

true that...

what i do is use Rain-X on it

http://modocars.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/49-rain-x-original-glass-treatment-35-oz1.jpg

the visor is easily removable so quick wash with dish washing liquid soap

pat dry with towel and apply rain x on both inside & outside

it helps a tad with the fogging and definitely with rain water running off the outside.

also helps remove any oily fingerprints off the visor :)

Grounded... :/

hi crankcase,

thats quite a decent price.

Yeah, I was lucky to get it at that price, though I know people who've got it slightly cheaper still. I guess with Regina you need to bargain hard, and sometimes you end up getting a good deal :)

But as I said, that was over 2.5 years ago (maybe close to 3, actually) so I'm not sure what prices are like nowadays. Someone in the Fazer club just bought one, and knowing him he probably got a pretty good deal on it too :p I'll update here if I find out any more info.

hi swoosh,

looks good..

how much and where? =)

if you are currently using it, care to give a review?

i quite like the sunshade thing.. but i have a concern...

when u are going at higher spd, will the sun shade catch the upwind airflow and flip up?

thanks!

Where you got it from? I asked Regina for the Miglia (which is the same thing) but they didn't have it or probably din't know it's the same helmet...

yeah i know -_-

but allegedly prices go up due to exchange rates and all that bull crap

mine's just over a year

and i dun geddit... if the SGD is so strong, why do we keep seeing price increases?

then again, that's for another discussion,

lets keep to modular helmets here ;)

the OGK Valer looks good

but won't the external sun shade cause a lot of wind noise if riding in a up position?

Bad design. The sunvisor should always be INSIDE. You don't use it all the time, only when needed. And having it outside in the open position will cause buffeting and noise, unless it was specially designed to be flush with the helmet.... which in this case, it doesn't look it.

but then the nolan 102 (?) is a similar external sun shade design right?

that's why i was thinking there'd be lots of wind whistle

Exactly why I skipped the Nolans.

Besides I think they're dog ugly anyway.

looks wise still ok... ... ...

so far so good

i test it on a corner, usually around the fast clip, first to ensure that it does not react to the plastic / polycarbonate composition

just a drop and leave it there for a few minutes just to be sure

but i'm not sure if over time it would damage the "anti-scratch" coating... but by then i suppose it's time to change a new visor ;)
