Thanks for your kind sharing on Raider. Agreed that knowing the maintenance helps any bike on long use and less trouble. Definitely, wear and tear has to be taken care well.

Anyway, I have bought the Raider today and all transferred. Now notice the air box is noisy during ride. Need to check the air box. Heard my ride is using upgrade carb. Luckily I have the original carb. As not good in turning, maybe have to change the carb back in JB. Anyway this week end will be busy to do up the bike and check at the same time.

Hi Gunshead. Please advise.

1) Referring to the fuel gauge. What is the minimum level to refill petrol? Today after the fuel mark blink, I start to pump up. But can only pump in 2.5 litres of fuel. Should I used to much more lower until the last bar vanish? Will there be another indicator on fuel at it's lowest?

2) Is 92 RON fuel acceptable or must minimum stay at 95 RON fuel?

This weekend, I open the bike's top cover to check the current carb. Notice it is using an open port cone air filter. Rather noisy. I want to change back to original filter or less noise. Any advise?

My bike's handle vibration is strong. Found that riding from Jurong to Tampines make my hand numb. Is it normal? If not normal then what could be the possible cause so that I can improve or put back my bike to it's best condition. Kindly advise.

Another issue is the pillions foot rest vibration also strong. Not comfortable for long journey. What can be done?

1. when double blink ( not single blink ) double flashing means u left another 14 - 16 km so now time to fill in petrol

2. all those vibration caused by chain sprocket set. Change to a new set.

pump to full tank in JB. Reach Jurong with 1 bar down. Seems like original carb do not really giving good fuel saving. Maybe need to monitor more

Posted (edited)

i have no clue about the items u changed,

I never change anything u did except the air filter and rear brake pad

original Suzuki pad NISIN and air filter far cheaper then above

anyway, I see u changed all items related to safety = GOOD

carburetor and air filter use original factory is the best for long term planning

Maybe I should do so taking annual leave to visit Setia Tropika. When they told me the price, I some what feel it is costly since I has been ready in this forum. Even their oil filter is charging at RM12. Here stated RM5.40. Tarmhanks for sharing.

Now the idling is not good as it does not fall to 1500 rpm and stays at 3000~4000 rpm. Need to use engaging of gear to jerk it down. The mechanic said could be carb rubber harden due to no use. It should return after some time. Still monitoring.

Notice my headlight for main is single top bulb. If high beam is 2 bulbs light up. It that correct?

My bike exhaust seems louder than usual bikes. Any way to stuff in something into the silencer to lower the noise? Anyone tried? Although the mechanic said it was original level

1400RPM IS THE CORRECT ONE. Exhaust noise will low so silent on 1400rpm

u must change the diaghram (rubber) inside carburator. It is RM7.40

Also u must tune the air intake to correct turning set. Refer to my tips given here in previous forum pages.

My bike both bulbs will light up once engine start

correct bulb is 18W below and top is 32W

Also you must change the tensioner + cam guide . It is sold in one set . Now the price has been reduced. I think is only RM74

Do all this in setia tropika

The technician is super specialist in DOHC engine for FU150 model

He will list out the things for you to change base on your mileage km

My bike at 99,999. So not sure of mileage now. It seems that Setia Tropika price is reasonable. Just difficult to trust local JB work shops. Will try to find your post to tune the carb.

don't do bikes near the causeway

travel far inside

there are so MANY trusted ones

I myself do bikes in Skudai.

Already made booking last few days

Our Raider R is first model and factory found out got defect in EPROm programming. The meter should spin by auto but failed. So they came out another 01 part and this rectified one can spin to 00000

The latest Belang and Raider all can spin automatically.

See my post above on the 01 part replacement

Saw your O1 parts replacement. So you mean the whole meter must be replace or just the EPROM can be change or reprogram?

Since you are going in tomorrow, please get the address of your regular trusted mechanic or work shop. I should be able to find it through google map.

Gun, I saw you ever change your rear wheel bearing noticing noise. Does it cause to you handle vibrations? Not handle jumping, but just vibrate causing hands getting numb over long ride.

Posted

Hi Gun, How is your test on this set of sprocket in your previous post. Is it good? If you used front 15T, shouldn't you use like 46T at the rear to compensate? Otherwise, you may loose power. Although it look like it can drag more.

Hi Gun, in your previous post, you state to adjust the carb fuel at 2 1/4 turns. What do you mean by 1 turn? 360 or 180 after full closed of the jet is consider 1 turn? I am not sure whether my selection of the screw is correct as I assume the screw nearer to the engine and seems only 1 screw. The copper screw.
