To access air box,you just need to loose the two size 12mm bolts..pull the tank back and lift it up..use a wood as a stand to hold up the tank..no need to take out side fairings..

 

As for changing sparkplugs,i find taking out the air box is infact more easier than fairings..undo the radiator bolts and windguards(for fi birds)..like what the service manual indicates.

so if taking out airbox to access sparkplugs, juz tilting the tank rear upwards with support as u mentioned is enuff for access to take out the airbox?

 

coz for s4, i have to remove the whole tank to replace sparkplugs..

 

like dis from wat u mentioned the airbox must be quite slim to able to do dat..

 

so now then i know carb birds dun have windguards ah

For s4..changing plugs is a breeeze bro..bb is like a toot!..the newer sports bike lagi more toot!!!...thats why is good to invest in iridium plugs..and change it once a year or every 30 000kms..

 

A friend of mine rode 90 000kms on his iridium plugs..plugs still useable but the iridium tips looks like a non stim nipple..

 

Oh ya one advice..have fun changing the plugs...must relax..dont drop any bolts or nuts..the bb engine got lots of nook and crannies..

jbat- yah, iridium plugs have o-rings on it compared to normal ones also, downplaying the chances of getting foul or moist plugs when bike top block gasket deteriorated or exposed to excessive rain..dats naked s4 experience la

 

greysnail- honda new bike designs been going downhill imo..though design wise appeals to diff pples la..

 

late to the 'party' la..missed bb in her prime..though might be tough to afford if buying her new when still in production

My bike got over heat again FI blick 7 time ETC problem.

When back to shop change new ECT sensor temp change to 132 dregree than temp never come down.

Dont know whats wrong.

Shop already change the new whole set harness wire from honda but still the same any old bird bro encounter this problem before. Seems like the shop DE XING dont know what they are doing. HELP!!!!

So u've change harness and thermostat...i suggest u bring the bike to Alai.He's more well versed in blackbird.

One thing about bb's electrical is straight forward..check sensor..check wire...if cannot last step change ecm (thats if its just electrical problem and not mechanical...)..

Ya can be also bro..if the mechanic dunno how to read the error code..7 blinks will be 7 continuous short blink..25 blinks will be 2 long and 5 short blinks...

2 long n 5 short is 25 blinks..this refers to knock sensor abnormality..the service manual indicates to replace the knock sensor..if error code still flashes the its either wire harness or ecm.

 

To check harness you simply need to find the wire from the knock sensor to the ecm( not sure about the colour you need to check the wiring schematics) for continuity (by using a multimeter). If continuity is ok..then its highly ecm..most blackbird before 04(if i'm not wrong)have ecm problem unless a newer updated ecm is installed.

 

Basically when the bike have 25 blinks,its still rideable..bro bluejelly's bike have this problem n he still happily ride the bike up north..only thing is the iritating blinks flashing, the bike will not work 100% full potential power and eat up abit more petrol..

I have the 25 blinks for ages but still my bike moving well n even hit 270 ( n that last for only about 5 seconds or less) n even hit hatyai without problems .. so far lah .. touch wood ah ... but if i got the money i sure do sometin about the lite, not the bike ...

 

U may want to consider goin to other mechanics like ah lai, bikewerkz, bangbus or volvo for second opinion especially on the high temperature... all the best bro !!
