A 'running start' is when i push my bike at a certain speed(oh lets say 5-7km/h?) and then hit the electric start button. It worked once. Thought it would work again. Nothing is wrong with my oil indicator lights or any of my other electronic stuff. I just can't get it to start is all. Maybe you can see the problem if you see my scooter. Where do you live?

push start??? din know our bike also can push start... maybe next time will try...

what causes backfiring? is backfiring a bad thing? my bike's getting a lot of backfiring lately. is it something to worry about?

common for vxr...again some settings to be done to the carb but might not completely solve the problem gd luck :thumb:

b4 u buy the tools, try to find a copy of the owner's manual n read from inside c wat r the tools u need n then from the manual u will be able to find out the location of stuff n how to access or open it. And of coz ur service interval for most stuff like when to change coolant, spark plug this n dat

was told by Future that the engine valves could be the cause of the backfiring. there's a possibility of them need replacing.

btw, how much does a set of valves cost? need to know just in case i kena chop.

b4 u decide IF it is really the engine valves, u might want to consider playing ard wif ur carb's settings n other stuff to c if the problem is solve....coz once u touch the engine, it will be alot of $$$$$

For wat I know is backfiring is rather common for vxr05 n a number of riders managed to get it solve thru carb tunning..n the last I hav read or learn is the problem is actually the design of the orginal exhuast IF I remember correctly...Some1 kindly correct me if Im wrong coz I dun ride a 4T.

Of coz a simple symptom like backfiring as wat u hav describe might be many possibilitys to different problems..thus I will like to suggest u to try out some simple problem solving for the "simpler" problem b4 moving on to the major 1s.

A gd scenario is "bike cannot start"...check here check ther all ok..end up moving on to check engine n everything..end up actually bike ran out of petrol

green liquid = coolant

check all the coolant pipes, engine gaskets n water pump for leaks...

is urs a 2stroke or 4stroke??

the greenish liquid is stagnated under my bike near to the aftermarket air filter. It feels thick and greenish black in colour. Hope its nothing to do with the rear brake though. Does the brake use any liquid? If its coolant leaking, is it advisable to ride my bike to work tomorrow?
