DIY the voltmeter, took abt 1.5 ~ 2 hrs ! :giddy:

attached a clearer pic for info..

2 roads diverged into a wood, and I-I took the road less traveled and that makes all the difference!

Anyway those slip in arrow pipe can make sw 400 more power? The KNN(not vulgar) filter heard can make the bike pick up easier and comsume less petrol if you ride as b4. True??

Yah !! Agreed that 140km/hr is just fine for bright sunny day or clear open dry road at night. Have managed to maintain this speed at late night all the way from outside KL on Klang Valley highway up to the Tapah R&R. Only the buzz in the hands was prominent when i stopped.

Unfortunately with all the heavy traffic & road repairs on the highways nowadays limits this to around 120 Km/hr average during most times during daylight hours.

Longest in the saddle on the SW ? Anyone done 14 hours non stop or more ? i.e. only stop for Fuel & toilet ?

You guys make me firm on 400cc swing instead of dilenma between 400cc and 600cc. Thanks

the fact is that the torque for the Euro 400 is stronger than the JDM 600. FC for Euro 400 is abt 24km per liter whereas the JDM 600 is abt 17km per liter. top speed for Euro 400 is max @ 170 - 180km/h but the JDM 600 can only do slightly better @ 180 - 190km/h.

as for the exhaust, my friend tried the Arrow slip-on for his JDM 600. no improvement. if take out the buffer, run & sound slightly better only.

base price is 10.5 - 11k .. try calling bike production to ask..

assuming...

+ machine price $10,800

+ GST $756

+ COE $1,609 (for Oct 08)

+ insurance near $400... depends on ins co., age & type but strongly suggest at least 3PFT if planning ride out of Sg, i even considered comprehensive (AXA near $600) after warranty expires since SWing parts all so ex

+ IU >$160 ... insist on the new slim IU (prices may differ as shops charge differently for installation and different bracket used)

+ admin fees (some motortiam waive)

+ etc

= easily $13+++ k

i also think BP offers a good price, but be very clear to ah swee you want all costs included, and don't expect to much of their service attitude :p

is it strange that i'm getting 26-28 km per litre on my majesty400?

No lah, I get 27~29 on my Burgman 400.... single cylinder sucks less fuel than twin cylinder mah.

So that contributes! :cheeky:

bro william_liu has kindly highlighted the diff in FC due to nos. of cylinder

SWing 400 (2008) dry weight 228kg + fuel tank 16L

http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/honda_silverwing_400_2008.php

Majesty 400 (2008) dry weight 196kg + fuel tank 14L

http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/yamaha_majesty_400_2008.php

Both at full tank, the SWing is heavier by approx 33.5kg ... which do you think will consume more fuel :cheeky:

(weight of 2L petrol approx. 2L x 0.73722 kg/L = 1.47kg)

i agree that SWing with twin cylinders is sure smoother...

at 140kph i feel the drag on my bike.. was thinking of fitting a laminar lip to solve the wind noise issue..
