Monitor batt voltage no prob, but then if I want to monitor the charging ability of my bike, my rpm have to at about 4000 - 5000 then can see whether can reach 14+v anot...

my bike is at 14.1v when it is idling. at 4000-5000rpm, it's the same.

i really hope that is not the case. my bike is less than 3 months.

i have a voltmeter. it is still charging at ard 14.1v to 14.3v but those few days i went touring, when i start, the charging sometimes is slow, but surely, to reach 14.0v after ignition.

 

pray hard. i've got a friend who owns a brand new Euro 400. but his coil broke down on its 11 month old. thank God still within warranty. so wat do u think? so never be confident

rpm 5k --> 90 to 94 km/h

rpm 5.4k --> 100km/h

that's what i get from my stock setup

you can alway install it inside your glove compartment.

my friend measure the battery voltage directly using a multimeter meter and readings are different from the voltmeter fitted on the bike... to believe which?

to measure voltage at higher revs, just put on main stand can liow

my Jan'08 registered bike (2006 model) batt went flat coz magnetic coil was defective in Oct (9+ mths on the road). got it replaced under warranty at boon siew... took few days though

i really hope that is not the case. my bike is less than 3 months.

if suspect something wrong, suggest get boon siew (under warranty mah) to check it instead of heading down to motortiam coz outside mechs may not be able to find the problem... like my case

 

w1 wed... batt went flat at 6+pm, towed to looi's and left there

w1 thurs... looi's mech told me can collect bike liow, they charged batt, said tested coil and found got charging, cannot find what is wrong

w2 sun... batt flat again, believing that coil is ok, maybe batt got problem, so bought n fitted a new batt, bike running again

w2 tues... batt flat at 6+pm again, towed to boon siew n left there overnight

w2 wed... boon siew took up case, started testing coil

w2 thurs... was told coil defective around noon, will replace coil and contunue testing

w2 fri... was told can collect bike about 2pm

w2 sat... called looi's to make noise about their misjudgement, ah lee said they didn't find fault coz fault only detectable when hot some crap! lost faith in their mechso_O

 

although i got the coil replaced under warranty, the 2 weeks ordeal was really frustrating and inconvenient... those bloody bad days. my calculations were...

if the fault was found on w1 thurs and replaced, total cost is around $430 (replace $330, towing $35, taxi fares $65). now i spent about $360 (replacement under warranty FOC, 2x towing $70, 1x batt $70, taxi fares $220).

the incompetence of looi's mech costed me time n $$$

seems like Honda really Notorious for electrical problem... Not only SW, i encountered problem with my new Phantom previously..... within same day of pushing out the bike...

 

Also VFR and CBR1000rr coil problem.. hmmmm
