just came back, and after shower. roger, 2_wheeler and myself stay till 2 plus....

would like to thak you guys for the gathering( all bikes and cars that went for the gathering ), and apologise to those whom i did not intro myself to them ( busy chatting with others ), i think some of silverwings bros did turn up around 8 plus to 9 plus, but went away a rode to the back of the railway station coffeeshop. any see not wings there, left. We are at the front of the railway station coffee shop facing the main noisy road. Try to get their attention, but they exit the carpark too fast.

Next time will choose a better place.

Good nite:sleep:

Hi Fellow Swingers,

I recently noticed an unusual "screeking" sound coming off my Rear Compartment ( Roller & Belting Housing)...This sound only develops during low speed aceleration from a Dead Stop position. I had recently changed my Belt and rollers but sound still sound is still presence. It is especially obvious when going up the Multi storey carpark slope..

Wondering if any Brudders out there encounter the same problem? Please advise what is the cause of it and what parts should be replaced?

Btw, my mileage is 28k.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Rogerio

Silver Wing Belting and Rollers are different from other brands' scooters. Your Belt should last you for around 50k and your Rollers, 100k

next time when you change these items, see it for yourself the condition of it..... the belt look new and the rollers are not damage?

I am currently using my Belt for 50k and the Rollers 100k. have checked and it still can last.

this sound to me like slip clutch. if it is slip clutch, try moving off slow and steady. It should gone away after sometime. Self cured.

Hi Guys

Thanks and appreciate all the swift replies! At least now i know i am not suffering the problem alone...

I actually experienced the 'sound' at about 20k before it went off and came back again at 28k...The sound was not really that noticable back then and it went off indeed over time hence didnt bothered to write in for help...

But sound actually came back recently and noticed that it had became louder especially going up slope..hence getting alittle concern and getting so bothered by the sound that i considered of changing the clutch...haha.

Just puzzled...does it means that WE will have to endure the problem as it is? Is there really no way of rectification known as yet?

Another Question aside: Wondering how many kms do you guys do before changing your Engine Oil? I change every 3.5k with Esso Fully-Syn 4T.

Thanks!

Maybe you like to go down Boon Siew and complain. There is one more rider name Kenny riding the white Swing.

He too sent in his bike to Boon Siew for warranty repair. There is oso noise coming from the clutch area. They change new belt, rollers and think clutch too for him. He sent in the first time and they told him it is ok, then the problem still persist and he sent an email to complain to Boon Siew and they immediatly reply and ask him to go down for repair.

Maybe you like to go down and talk to them. If they reject and said nothing wrong with your bike, quote them why they did repair for the white SWing after he sent email. Is it we need to sent email to complain b4 you take actions.

I also have the same problem recently. Clocking 13k.

Its only happened when there is a passenger. If slowly move off, the sound get very loud. I went to my bike shop they also said no problem, ask me to go back after 24k to change belt, roller and stuff.

The funny thing now is that, after changing EO the sound seems to die down liao.

Very weird.

Travel for the past few weeks, encountered some problems.

First incident happens when I try to mount the bike over a small kerb to a pavement for some illegal bike parking, opposite the cathay cinema near PS. While pillioning and trying to move the bike over the kerb, heard a loud bang at the rear. After get off the bike to check, I did not see any damage. I thought suspension might be a bit soft.

2nd incident happen at Bukit Tmah stretch of shops, this time is crossing the hump with pillion, also heard a loud bang at the rear. Only then I realised that it might be the main stand that might hit the hump or kerb while trying to move the bike over them. :giddy:

Anyone of you experience that? SW riders do be careful of the above.
